crafters/sewers

It seems like we do have a creative bunch around here. For those of you that enjoy crafts and sewing projects, I found this blog yesterday and I've been addicted ever since.

http://www.prudentbaby.com/

Love all the ideas and I just can't get enough! It's practically killing me that the fabric store is 40 miles away, so I only go in to town once a week and that trip was already made Tuesday. :(....of course I may be needing some more groceries for the weekend, so a trip tomorrow is sounding highly likely.

I've also decided to make my own bedding and crossing my fingers that I find a really cool old chair to recover for Kessler's room at a major rummage sale next Wednesday-Sat...is it Wednesday yet???

I'm not that crafty but my cousin is. She has made all kinds of stuff for DD... from wool diaper covers that normally sell for $100 to shoes & slippers.

I will have to look over that website some more... I saved it to my favs. Biggrin

Nice blog...spent 20 minutes there and barely touched the surface. One of my new finds is http://sixsistersstuff.blogspot.com/

I have seen friends using pininterest but know nothing about it.

DIY Nursing Pillow

I found a pattern for a nursing pillow at makebabystuff.com. I gave it a shot. Here's the final result. I like it. I think I'll buy a cheap sheet at goodwill and make pillow cases for it, too. It only cost me around 6 to 10 bucks to make. Thanks for the other sites!

Wow! I can waste a lot of time on a thread like this. All my facebook updates lately have been about sewing projects since I've been on a crazy sewing kick.

This is a site I like to look at from time to time. http://www.make-it-do.com/

Thought I would throw this in...

One of the most useful handmade gifts that I received for DD was a hooded towel. It was a nice thick bath towel (not one of those cheap flimsy things) & my cousin sewed a large washcloth or small hand towel (not sure which) to the center of the wide side for the hood. I can wrap DD completey in it & will be able to use it for years. It looks really nice.

They have tutorials on adorable hooded towels on prudent baby. Was just looking at those. You use a regular sturdy bath towel and add cute fabric to it. Looking forward to this. Can't wait to give some as gifts for my sister and make some for myself.

I wish I was alittle more crafty these days. I don't have alot of time and I am not a good sewer, but I do like scrabooking. I just finished my DS's first year scrapbook ( I do digital) and had it printed into a book. Now if I could only catch up on his so I can do the LO's on time!
