Are any of you doing this for your older LO's? We started this last year and I am just having way too much fun with it this year. LOL!
For those that don't know what it is, it's this little elf that comes with a book. You read the book to your child which explains to them what the elf does. He is a magic elf from the north pole and he watches everything your child does. The child is not allowed to touch him or he'll lose his magic and won't be able to return to the north pole. Every night he flys back to the north pole and reports to Santa whether your child has been naughty or good. In the morning he is in a different place so your child has to look for him. He returns to the north pole on Christmas Eve and doesn't return until the following year (we usually choose day after Thanksgiving). Our elf's name is Charlie. Here are some pics of what Charlie has been up too. Tomorrow, I'm going to set him up like he was up all night watching the Twilight movies with my Edward doll. Hehe!
The day he returned
He got into daddy's coffee
And then drank all my wine!
That sounds like a really cool idea! I'm not sure how much Annabelle would actually get it though.

Yeah, Stephen was scared of him last year. I don't blame him. It is a little creepy thinking about this elf moving around your house while you are sleeping, but now he is the perfect age for it!
DS has been giving us problems too and having problems at school as well. I think he's having a problem adjusting to the new baby and Kindergarten. His behavior still hasn't fully improved, but it's improved some ever since Charlie came back!
I like the idea of it, and I think Brandon would like it. I almost picked one up yesterday at Target, but the thing kind of creeps me out.

when I taught in a two year old room last year, one of my darling little boys ("bad" by some people's terms, but I ADORED him - he was just misunderstood) kept telling us about "Zeggigy" on "that thing up there that goes around and around" we were so confused. So we got his older sister to translate. The elf's name was Ziggity and he was on the ceiling fan in Jakob's room that morning.
I think I'll do the Elf thing next year. Christian is going through a phase where he's scared of everything right now lol. Its such a cute idea and I bet it helps tons with behavior!
I love Elf on the Shelf! I can't wait to do this with Carter in the coming years. There is also a cartoon. It came on ABC (I think) last week. It was called Elf on the Shelf: An Elf's Story. I think it is available on DVD too.
