Thread: Feel like a single mom - ramble

Well it's finally here! The ground was dry enough for the boys to get in the fields and start planting on Monday, so I have been turned into a single mom for the next month. At least I get to stay at home. I don't think I could handle it if I was working too and Denny was gone. This is just a sample of what it's going to be like when the lil punkin arrives. Right smack in the middle of harvest! Last time we lived here we called ourselves Harvest widows during harvest. LOL. At least during planting he should get a few sundays off. So far this week the earliest he's come home is 11:00 p.m. I love it here and it's just a different way of life. Just felt like sharing I guess....get's a little quiet around here after bed time!
Oh and if anyone recalls, we moved without much furniture. I scored pretty decent couch and loveseat set on craigslist for $75 for the pair. After putting gas in my friend's pick up I spent just $150 total on the trip and couches. Not bad. I figure I didn't need to buy new furniture with a newborn on the way. DD had bad reflux.
I suppose that's it.
What's everyone else up to this evening??? Anyone watch Idol?????

They look awesome! I think it is a great find! DH is gone this week so I know how you are feeling. He left around 5am monday and is coming home Sat around 10pm. I know that I could not handle it if I was working either. Hope you are having a good night.

The house looks great, and awesome deal on the couches. Sometimes my DH works all day comes home for dinner then goes back till 2 or 3 in the morning. It sucks lol definately makes you feel like a single parent. I think the evenings are the worst too. Thank god for the Internet huh lol

Thanks girls! Denny came home a little earlier last night (10:15) so that was nice. And yes, thank God for internet! We just use rabbit ears for our tv, so there wasn't much on after american idol that I wanted to watch. I used to love CSI and those crime shows, but I just can't watch them once I had a child. Freaks me out too much!

LOL I can only watch them if DH is home with me. If not I can't watch anything slightly scary lol

This is my life 24/7. The only time I get a break is if my mom watches my kids for a few hours. I work part time plus do the single mommy thing all the time......its hard thats for sure.

Sorry you are feelin lonely. Maybe it is a good time to pick up a book or start a project. In the fall when baby is due my DH starts studying for his professional exam, he will be gone like 3 nights a week and a whole wknd day at the library. So I am not looking forward to being alone with the kiddos then either. His test is 2 weeks after my due date so that could be a rough time for us too. Hang in there, at least you have your little Abby for company!
