Is This Finally Movement?

I am 19 weeks now, almost 20, and I think I might finally be feeling the baby move. I'm not a 100% sure, though. In the past, people would ask me and I would say, "Well, what with the gas, it could be anything." But in the past week, I've felt this strange quivering jello feeling right below my navel. The funny thing is that I usually feel it right before I eat or when my husband and I are having a conversation.

Today, I've been feeling this movement every thirty minutes or so. My husband is at work right now. I have the summer off because I'm a professor. But as I've been sitting here, I swear the kid will start moving when it gets too quiet. I will say something and the movement will stop.

So my question is, what seems to cause your babies to move? Do they respond to food? Someone mentioned sweets, but I don't see this trend here. I think he moves when he's hungry, when he's bored, and when he's excited.

Sounds like movement to me! Sophia always moves the most after I finish eating or when I'm laying down. She loves to keep me up all night! LOL! I have been feeling her hiccups lately too!

With this LO I find I notice him/her more when I am silent (just sitting or laying down). These kicks are more gentle then with DS. I feel them down above my csect scar and right below my belly button too.

With my first, I was unsure about movement as well. Boy oh boy when she started kicking though - I knew. I can def feel this one earlier than with her, but I didn't know for sure until I could clearly feel kicking/thumps. Probably about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Kessler seems to move after eating or when I'm laying on the couch. He hasn't started keeping me up....yet.

I feel ALL kinds of movement! I usually feel it when I'm sitting still after lunch at my desk.. so responding to food. Sometimes, I'll feel a kick or two randomly .. and I feel his butt/head/foot pressing out sometimes, too.

I feel it at random times. Especially if I'm sitting and quiet or trying to sleep! I have learned to not drink juice at night, I think the sugar gets her all fired up. I noticed today that I was STARVING hungry and she was kicking away.

At the very beginning I described it like popcorn popping. Just real light "pops" and thumps. Now it's a bit of a heavier thump and I even think I felt her rolling around one night. Just real subtle though, but I have some extra cushioning that may prevent me from feeling as much as others.

I haven't really noticed a pattern yet. He's breech and the kicks I do feel are really low (near my Csect scar and lower). The other day it felt as if my cervix was vibrating... that one was strange. I'm curious to see how spunky this one will be because DD hardly ever moved she was so laid back.

I bet that was movement, congrats!

My LO moves all the time, but I really notice it at night while I'm getting ready to go to bed. That's when I get the good kicks and DH comes over to chat with him and feel him kick around.

I notice them the most when I am laying down to go to bed. I think I am just to busy to notice them otherwise. I know when they start to get stronger then I am more aware of the movements.

Baby's Personality

The most interesting thing about a baby's movement is that it starts to reveal a little bit about her/his personality, doesn't it? One poster said her baby responded to sweets, another responded to pokes by poking right back....so sweet and endearing. I can't wait to see what kind of human beings these little ones become. It's nice to know we can get a sneak peak of their personalities before they are even born.
