Default Had to go to the hospital last night - preterm labour...

Yesterday afternoon I started to have braxton hicks contractions every 5 minutes that were really worrying us. I've been having a lot the past week, more than normal actually. By 7pm I started to get actual contractions and cramping that were every 5 minutes and then would leave with a braxton hicks. I started to feel fluish and a lot of pressure and was peeing every 45 minutes. We decided to go to our local hospital and they put me on an IV and did urine/blood tests but didn't see anything. Because I'm less than 24 weeks they decided to send me by ambulance to another hospital (London) an hour away. Once I was up there they saw immediately that I had an infection and did an ultrasound and sterile check. Thankfully baby is okay and my cervix was long and closed!! They said I could stay on IV meds or I could take them orally at home and I choose the latter since we have 3 kids at home over an hour away. They said there was also blood in my urine so it looks like a kidney infection is the root of all this. I've been in bed all day and I feel pretty horrible but the contractions have finally gone away and I just have the pressure/braxton hicks. I'm supposed to stay on the medication for 7 days and we just hope now that it's not an infection in the amniotic fluid (if not I should feel better and contractions will stop).

Just thought I'd let everyone know what's going on and I won't be online much this week as I'm supposed to stay in bed.
