Had my first Shower yesterday

I had my first shower yesterday. It was so beautiful. It is overwhelming the amount of love and support DH and I have from our family and friends. We got so many wonderful things from everyone. On my FB my girlfriend but together a shutterfly book of all of the pictures if you have time you should look. Smile She truly did an amazing job and I am so thankful to her.

I have to say I was a little disappointed by BRU registry. It did not take things off as people purchased gifts. I know they all were scanned for the registry b/c I have the receipts that show they were. I ended up with three baby moniters, two bumbos, several of the same receiving blankets and outfits. When I went online last night to see if I could fix the registry all of the items still showed as unpurchased! I am greatful for the gifts but now I need to fix the registry before the next shower. Has anyone had to deal with this before?

The only problem I had with DS's registry was people not taking it off the registry. Maybe you can return the doubles, get what you want, and while you're there ask them at the desk to make sure it gets fixed?? Sorry I'm not more help, that never happened to me.

I don't specifically remember having that problem but I agree with Aimee. Just take in the extras, with the receipts, and exchange them for something else on the registry. Let them know it's not taking stuff off and could they see what's going on.

Glad you had such a wonderful baby shower!

Congrats on the Shower!!
In terms if registry stuff, I'm registered at Target. My shower is this Saturday and I know there are a few things my family has gotten that are still registered as unpurchased. I just figure if I get extras I'll exchange them for something that I didn't get. I know that I'm at least getting the crib I wanted (so happy about that!). I've actually had nothing but issues with the registry, not sure if it applies to other stores as well although it sounds like BRU has it's own issues. Good luck!

Sounds like you had a great shower! When you go in to exchange the extras, just make sure they fix it.

I have a BRU registry this time & I had one last time. The only problem I had was when people didn't take the registry list to the register & have it scanned when the items were purchased. BRU should exchange or provide gift cards for any of the extras. I would print the registry showing nothing being removed & then I would go ahead & mark things purchased myself... so you don't get anymore. Oh... & even if you don't need anything else right now... you will. So if you have a gift card you can just hold it until you need to use it.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful shower. I can't wait to look at the pics!

Is your BFF D.A. with a DS in Nov by chance Wink Because if so - I saw your pictures and I have to agree - she did an amazing job!

BRU registry drama happened a lot with my DS as well. Its so frustrating. At least if its on your registry they will return it for you pretty easily.

You can manually show as purchased

I had a bunch of people buy me stuff that is like what I had registered at BRU. I manually marked the items as purchased on my bru list.

Ohhhhh YAY!!!! I'm so happy you had a wonderful time.

I would go in & complain regarding the registry. If your guests did tell them it was for the registry & you can prove it then maybe they will let you just straight return it. I do agree with others though, you will need to get things later on, the larger carseat for example, so gift cards might be cool.
