Having a baby
Came in at 5 am CST with contraxs at 4-1-1. They checked me and NO dilation. Almost sent me home but Owen was having heart decels with the contrax so they admitted me. Talk of a c-section but they gave fluids and oxygen and that helped. Started slow pit drip and epidural. Looking better now. Last check I was 2 cm. I'll keep y'all posted as I can
Owen Scott- 5:58 pm CST, 7 lbs 15 oz, 21 1/2 in
He continued to do well so we increased pitocin. I slowly dilated from 2 cm at noon to 5 cm at 4:15 pm. Epidural wore down so I had some pain but they pushed lidocaine until I could 'catch up' my epi drip. I was 5 cm head not engaged at 4:15 pm, 8 cm with spontaneous rupture of membranes at 4:37 pm, 10 cm and ready to push at 5:20 pm. Pushed from about 5:25 until he was born at 5:58. EXTREMELY fast compared to my 25 hour labor and 2 1/2 hrs of pushing with DD. He came out crying, no cord around his neck like they feared. He has already latched and nursed for about 15 minutes. Apgars were 8 and 9. He did swallow some meconium so he's in the nursery for a bit being monitored but they just came and said he's doing great and it should be any time now he will be back with us.
I'm doing great. I've gotten up and walked around already. Bleeding isn't bad. Pottying isn't horrible. I had a skid mark that required a stitch or two but it's not giving me much trouble yet. Hopefully tomorrow it won't catch up with me lol.
All in all I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
AND he was born on the due date tha the doctors had for him, which I think is kinda cool
