Unhappy I think I'm having a mommy breakdown!

Sophia has barely slept today! She'll nurse, sleep 5 minutes, cry until I pick her up, go back to sleep for 5 minutes, and same thing all over again. She's nursing every 1 1/2 hours so its not like her every 45 minutes during a growth spurt. I haven't gotten anything done today. I haven't even got to take a shower and DH isn't here to help. On top of this DS has really been testing me today. I sat down earlier and just cried. I don't know what is going on with Sophia. If its another growth spurt then it seems like she has one every week! Are any other LO's doing this?

She's just about on track for a growth spurt it sounds like & they'll often ramp up the nursing a bit before to get milk production up. It's ok to just sit & cry. Your hormones are still crazy and it's hard to be a new Mom sometimes. Just keep feeding her & you'll both get through it. Big hugs to you. It will get better Hun!!! We all have these days. My most recent was yesterday.

Gillian has more days like this than not - but she'll stay asleep 2-3 hours if she's touching me. Since it's not really an option to sit on the couch all day long, I slip her into the moby and just get on with my day. Doesn't help me get a shower, but does help keep Annabelle from acting out for attention.

We all go through this. DD did it, and DS seems to like this pattern at night. Speaking of DD, she's been testing me a lot recently, too. She lost several privileges last night because I don't deal well with the testing. Hang in there and know we all understand.

I was going to suggest the moby or any sling really if she doesn't want to be put down. If she's snuggled up to you and can hear your heartbeat, it may soothe her to sleep. And you can maybe have your hands free to get a few things done. Hope she slept some during the night so you could rest!

She finally went to sleep at 1:30 am, woke up at 4:30 am, nursed her, and now she's still sleeping. I'm sure she'll probably end up sleeping all day now. I have a sling, but I don't like it. I may have to go get a moby. Thanks for understanding! Feels good to know I'm not alone.

I third the sling! It can be a life saver but it can also be a big learning curve. I have 2 ring slings from my oldest and a Beco Butterfly 2 for this one and am looking at some Mei Tais as well. I don't babywear at home unless he is funny and wants to be held constantly, but I LOVE babywearing outside the house when we go shopping or to the park or whatever we are doing.

Also yes, he is going through something similar right now. I think it is something I ate, but I can't figure out what. He is not his normal happy baby self though

at this age they actually *do* have a growth spurt almost every week and a half to two weeks. Owen is doing the same thing yesterday and today. He's currently in the Ergo and I do yard work LOL
