I'm so unprepared...

I have 2 weeks until I'm term, 5 weeks until I'm full term. I have a baby monitor, breast pump, milk storage bags, the Itzbeen thing, carseat, clothes, crib (but no bedding still), and a bassinet (that I'm planning on trading in during BRU's Great Trade In).

I'm pretty 'no-frills' but I feel like I am missing some major stuff here.

Here's what's still on my 'registry' (i.e. shopping list for BRU since I get a 10% off discount for stuff on here lol- I'll buy most of the stuff as it becomes age appropriate)

I know how you feel.....I have a bassinet and a car seat........and a few clothes, diapers. Thats about it.

A friend of mine had given me a crib but it is missing a piece and apparently she can't get anyone to go climb up in the shed to look and see if they even have it. I did send my brother over with my 11 yr old and he (my kid) climbed up there and looked and said he didn't see it soooooooooooo....I am moving all the pieces outta my room today and hoping I can find one soon.

Amanda- I'm not really counting on my crib to be honest. It was moved by the military and sometimes that goes nicely, sometimes it doesn't. I won't know until this weekend if it made it from Hawaii to Tennessee in one piece or not. I figure if it's in pieces I'll take it in to BRU and get 25% off a new crib and pick out one that is less than $250.

hahaha I'm with you. Yesterday was 50 days until my c-section date. All I've bought is some clothes and a few blankets. hahaha. My list is much shorter though...
pack n play sheet, car seat (yes, I haven't bought his car seat yet), pacifiers, diapers
I really think that's it...I'm sure I'll be missing something super important in the first week and have to go to target.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have everything yet.

Oh, and we're not even buying a crib yet/at all. I bought both of my girls nice 4 in 1 cribs. Currently they're both (mostly...when they aren't in our bed) sleeping in the oldest's double bed. The crib is still built and in their room "just in case" but I plan on Egan staying in our bed/pack n play for about a year like Rowynn did. So I'll probably just buy him the foot board and head board pieces to the bed and skip the crib parts.

Oh I know how that goes.....my Ex-H was Army and we did 2 moves from the US to Germany. We had many things delivered in pieces..........when they shouldn't have been..

I have a feeling that this move will be like that. When we moved from AL to HI, we were living with old handed down, mix and match furniture. I said then that I hoped they'd open up those boxes and nothing but sawdust would fall out. Then the Army would reimburse us for all the furniture lost (and since it was all handed down for free that'd just be money in our pockets) and we could go out and buy new stuff. NOTHING was broken. Like seriously, not even a single dish.

This time, I've refurnished the entire house within the past 2 years so I am sure that THIS time EVERYthing will be broken

You're actually more prepared than I am. LOL. I have my crib. No mattress. changing table...no changing pad....and about 5 newborn sleepers. I've got it all figured out for next two months with the budget. Worse case senario with the car seat, I have a convertable seat that's pink that he can ride home in. LOL. Poor kid. Don't feel bad. I'm like you though. I don't get a bunch of extra stuff that baby only uses for a month or two.

I'm so not ready - I have everything somewhere in my house, just not sure where since we moved. Baby's really don't require much though - boobs/bottles, a place to sleep, a car seat, diapers, something to wear. You'll be fine! I'm now amazed at how much I thought I needed with my first and that I got before he was even here ....

I've got my list slowly dwindling but I also have that panicky NOTHING is ready feeling. Every time I think about it I get a little shakey.

I don't really have anything I NEED to do or get, other than move the pack-n-play up to the bedroom and reassmle the napper part of it. We are reusing Annabelle's carseat, but it's not getting installed until after she's here, since we'll have to move Annabelle to the other side and flip her ff (unless of course anyone knows of a convertable carseat that is shallow than an evenflo triumph).

I feel like I have nothing done. I have some stuff but it isn't organized so I don't even know what I need or have. I can't get on Target's registry to update it with what I do need. The bassinet is in my room but I still need to find the bedding for it & wash it. The car seat is ready to go but I haven't checked to see if 2 seats will fit in the car. I have diapers... some are ready, some aren't (I cloth diaper). The boppy is clean & ready. Some clothes are clean & some are still waiting to be washed.

Go to carseat.org... they have a great forum. They can tell you exactly what fits in the actual vehicle you own. They are very knowledgeable & helpful. Smile

There isn't anything I need to buy, mostly because we had everything from our first 2 kids. But I definitely have some organizing to do! I'd like to get the house purged of everything we don't need, but I know that's more of a hormone thing than what really needs to get done lol. We moved when I was 36ish weeks pregnant with DD, DS was about 15 months old. It was awful! I had nothing ready so I guess I can't do worse than I did that time lol.
