Just aiming for October 1st...

Starting to wonder when this baby is coming. I'm trying to keep him in until Ocotober 1st to keep my maternity leave in a good place. Last night I def. lost my mucus plug, and I'm in a LOT of pain this morning.. both the pelvis stretching thing and cramps. I told DH that I thought I probably shouldn't go to work this morning. He thinks if I want to keep LO in, I should stop working all together until the due date. In my job, I walk and stand a lot. (I teach elementary school, and my position is itinerant meaning I travel to three schools). I'm really torn.. not sure what the best thing to do is!

tough spot to be in. I agree with your DH that if you're wanting to keep him "in" then you're going to have to take leave early. You're pretty far along though, so maybe you can at least make it one more week at work? IDK. Hope your labor symptoms ease off and you can keep your leave as is.

Tough situation. Can you take just today off and see if that helps?

I say work as long as your possible! Baby will come when ready no matter what! But if its too physically difficult to work, then stay home and rest. You don't want to be too exhausted when the time comes.

Sounds like it might be soon! Hope it works out how you want it too - these babies have their own plans though.

Could you maybe see if you could do half days, or just do a couple classes per day??

Honestly, from what you've said, I think baby will be here before Oct. 1st whether you like it or not. Not what you want, but I don't think you can stop it... Sad

You are far enough along that they wouldnt stop your labor and it is safe for you to have him. He will come when he wants no matter what you do. I'd guess you arent too far from having him going by your symptoms. GL!

Thinking of you! KUP! Sounds like it won't be long. Not working might keep him in. On your feet all day, probably won't do anything to help that. I guess just weigh all the pros & cons and go with what you feel comfortable doing.

I completely understand the teaching on your feet thing. I teach third grade and end every day with swollen feet and back pain. Over the weekend my feet go down and my back recovers. I've just decided baby will come when she comes whether I work or not, so I am trying to extend my maternity leave as long as possible.

Good luck with everything. I hope your LO stays in as long as you want.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I have been having contractions all day, but now that I'm home I'm feeling a lot better. We'll see what my OB says tomorrow morning Smile

I'm excited to hear what your Dr says! I'm sorry you're feeling yuckie, I hope the little guy stays put until you're ready! Only a few days until the 1st, it could happen :).
