What is your one baby item splurge for this LO? Or... What would be your choice if you were given the gift of a splurge item?
My splurge item will be a diaper bag. I'm considering a JuJuBe right now. I'm currently using a Coach diaper bag that was a gift from my best friend last time.
A new stroller lol Mine is in great condition even though we have had it 4 years. But there are so many newer cooler ones out there now.
I guess mine really isn't an item, but my splurge purchase would have to be the birth photography I decided to do. The cost of that is more expensive than any of the baby items I registered for or even more expensive than her crib! I hope I'm not disappointed!
I would really love to have a glider that locks, but I don't think hubby and I are going to be able to swing that....maybe the family will surprise us!
Haven't decided 100% what my splurge item will be, there isn't a lot that we need, since dd is only 15 months we still have everything, and what we don't have is a need, not a splurge, for example a double stroller (I don't drive myself or else we'd stick with the single stroller and a carrier). Maybe a great diaper bag will be my splurge.
I wouldnt say its for the baby but my "splurge" item is going to be the 3D/4D US......She will definitely be my last so....
I've thought about this most of today and I couldn't come up with anything! LOL!
Well thanks to Anita... I think I'm gonna get a JuJuBe diaper bag lol. I have been planning it since the first thread on them :). I love my coach one but it isn't big enough now for day trips out with only 2. I usually end up bringing that and another bag. How practical is it to carry around 2 bags? I just can't decide between the BFF and the Be Prepared.
I am evil... Hee hee!
I'm getting a JJB BFF too. I"m waiting to see what patterns come out in August.
Hee hee... That's what I'm waiting for.
Are you both going with a BFF? Do you guys think it'll be big enough to carry all the regular stuff plus 3 jackets (and by jackets I mean hoodies lol) and 3 sets of jammies? I BF so room won't be taken by bottles / formula or anything. I just can't decide! I think BFF will be too small and the Be Prepared will be too big!
Ya know even when I had Cameron so K and K were 12 months old I didn't use a HUGE diaper bag.......and that was 3 kids in diapers, one on the bottle, and 2 sippy cups...plus all their snacks, toys stuff like that...
I'm a really light packer. Right now I'm using a JJB Behave for everyday and then I have a cheap messenger bag in the car with extra diapers and wipes. (this is my extra "all day" bag)
Have you been on the JJB site and looked at the pink room? They have pictures of the BFF packed so you can see how much it fits.
I don't think it would fit hoodies and jammies though. I would think a be prepared would be perfect size for that.
I'll usually be carrying a muslin blanket, nursing cover, 2 sippy cups (until this baby is 6 months, then it will be 3..Fiona's might be a Klean Kanteen or something though) travel wipes, 6 diapers, a pair of baby legs for everyone, travel coloring book (or two since by then Rowynn will probably be old enough for one) and two teething toys or so. Plus my wallet and keys. I'll also probably bring an extra onsie for the baby until around 6 months.
I'm probably forgetting something, I've already added something twice...but when I go out I don't tend to go somewhere I can't easily get to my car.
That's my "every day" kind of stuff. When we go on longer trips I'll probably have two bags, one attaches to the stroller.

and the Be Preparedhttp://www.ju-ju-be.com/PinkRoom2/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=135336
Ones specifically comparing the twohttp://www.ju-ju-be.com/PinkRoom2/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=102582
I'm a light packer as well. After my kids turn 1 I usually just put a few diapers, wipes and their cups in my purse and only stuff the diaper bag for all day trips. I think I'm going to go with the BFF. The be prepared seems too big! I did look at the pink room and the consensus there seems to be that it's more luggage. I get a kick out of all the ladies over there, they are seriously obsessed with jujubes! But I admit, I can't wait to see the new patterns :).
I was going to splurge on a diaper bag, but most nice ones you have to buy online and you can't test them out or se how big they are. The hospitals around here always supply a Vera Bradley diaper bag, so I may just see if I like that one, but I do like the Coach Scribble Diaper bag.
I have mostly everything from having DS, but I may get a new swing even though I have one. They are always coming out with new stuff and I can't resist getting a new one.
my splurge was stoller (bumbleride) and also the 3d/4D u/s which was well worth it
Ohh I missed this last week, so I'll answer now
Splurge- a few things, maybe... or maybe not... haven't decided yet.
We're thinking about getting him new furniture. We still have DD's crib and dresser but it's cheaper furniture and the dresser was small and didn't fit much stuff. But we're thinking too that DD teethed and left marks ALL over the crib and, as much as I want Owen to have new furniture, I'd be HEARTBROKEN if we spent a lot of money on it and he chewed it all to pieces. So we're on the fence about new furniture, or letting him have DD's furniture and toddler bed, then buying him new furniture in a few years when he's older.
Also, stroller. Trying to decide whether to splurge and get a Britax B-Ready that can go to a double stroller OR just let DD keep riding in our BOB and put Owen in a sling/carrier. S is definitely still in need of a stroller, she runs. But I'm not sure how much longer that'll last and I don't want to invest $500 in a stroller that we really won't need but for a few months. Negative to the BOB- I got the chocolate and pink one and I don't want Owen to have to ride in a pink stroller. MAY buy a double BOB, but those suckers are HUGE and I'm not sure I'd use it.
Two other 'big ticket' items: carrier (going to get the Beco Gemini or the lillebaby) and glider rocker.
