Unhappy A little worried - UPDATED

The past couple of days I have been having a lot of pain on my left side that runs from my butt to my leg. I'm thinking its just sciatica and it only hurts when I stand up from sitting or laying down for a while. Well last night I noticed a hard lump on the left side of my stomach. I even had DH feel it just to make sure I wasn't imagining things and he can feel it too! It's not real noticeable, I just noticed it because it harder than the rest of my stomach. I noticed today that everytime I bend over my left side hurts so when I got home I layed down in bed and pressed around on the lump again and oh my it was so painful!!! The pain isn't in my stomach though, I only feel a real sharp pain in my back. Has anyone felt this before? I have no clue what it could be. I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow and see if its something I need to go get checked out. Just wanted to see if you ladies had any ideas. Just thought it was weird that my whole left side has been hurting since Friday and now I have this hard mass that hurts when I press on it that just so happens to be on my left side.

I talked to the nurse and she thinks its sciatica nerve pain, but she's not sure what the lump or hardness could be. The fact that it hurts when I press on it, she said it sounds like its some other type of musculoskeletal pain. She told me to take tylenol and use a heating pad on my back. If that doesn't work then they can describe muscle relaxers for me which they really want to avoid. I'm just going to talk to my doctor about it on Monday when I go in for my appt. I know the baby is fine so I'm not too worried about that. I'm supposed to walk in the March for Babies on Sunday which is 5 miles and she talked to my doctor about it. My doctor gave me a big NO! She said if I really want to do it then just limit it to 1/2 a mile because walking the full 5 could just aggravate it more. Since we are going to Disney just a few days later, I'll take her advice. I'd hate to aggravate it and then be miserable on our trip. The lump or hard mass could very well be baby related, but I would have thought it would move by now. The weird thing is, I haven't felt the baby move since I noticed the "lump".

Normally I'd agree sciatica, but with the hard lump, i'd get that checked out just to be sure.

Sounds a lot like sciatica. I go to my chiropractor once every three weeks to keep mine in order. As for the lump, I'm really not sure. I've felt lumps in my stomach the last few days but they've just been the baby's butt! Good luck with everything and KUP.

I have bad sciatica. It goes from side to side but normally on the right side. That lump is quizzical though. You sure it's not baby related? Let us know what doc says.

You are still hearing the hb on the doppler right? Glad you are getting it all checked out. That would suck if your Disney trip was ruined. And you can always walk the 5 miles next year right.

It's not a hernia is it? I'm surprised they don't just have you run in real quick this week and get it checked out. It's pretty weird to develop a sudden lump that's not your uterus.

My mom asked me the same thing about whether it was a hernia. I guess it could be. I was a little surprised they didn't ask me to come in. If my appt wasn't Monday then I would have insisted they see me. The nurse didn't seem too worried since I told her that I have no abdominal pain, it's just all in my back. She did say if the pain gets worse to call them back. I can hear the baby's hb on the doppler so I'm not too worried about the baby just wish I knew what was going on with me! Thanks, ladies! It's times like these that I am so thankful I have other women to talk to.
