Monday QOTD

What is the most annoying thing someone has said to you lately? Do you have to answer questions about your pregnancy everytime you go in public from strangers (like your EDD, gender, etc)?

I feel like I have to constantly answer questions from strangers. They ask all the normal questions I guess. It starts with... You look tired, when are you due, do you know what you are having, oh that's perfect you will have one of each... Blah blah blah.

Most annoying comment of the week... I was wearing an orange & white striped fitted shirt. The lady at the cash register said I remind her of the Great Pumpkin. Really? You think that's something I want to hear?

Oh endless questions...but they aren't really annoying. Except maybe that everyone thinks I'm going to have a baby right in from of them b/c I'm so huge.

The OMG are you having twins? comment is getting old. EVERYONE keeps saying that. I'm like 'Um, nope. Just one and I'm actually measuring a week smaller than what I should be."

Also, really pisses me off when people tell me I shouldn't be doing something because I'm pregnant. Good lordy. I'm a grown adult, I'll decide what I should and shouldn't be doing.

I want a t-shirt that says "It's our second child. It's a boy. He's due in early October. No it's not twins. No he's not huge. Yes, it's okay for me to be doing this."

I answer questions about EDD, sex of the baby, Oh, you're so lucky one of each, etc, all the time! Oh, so many things that have annoyed me recently. I hate being told not to do something. I also REALLY hate it when my coworkers see me in the morning and are SURPRISED that I made it in! This has been going on for weeks. I'm only 38 weeks pregnant, so having started that "oh, you're here! I thought today would be the day and I was getting nervous" thing at 35 weeks was a bit premature. I'm okay with people asking how I feel, but I'm also tired of saying 'fine, how are you?'

I actually enjoy when a stranger asks me rather than just staring at my large belly. The one that pissed me off though was an comment made from someone DH works with to DH and the lovely DH passed it along to me b/c he thought it was funny. It was the obvious "Looks like you guys are having twins!" Made me so mad. What does he know? I was taking senior pictures of his youngest, so it's not like he actually remembers how freakin huge his wife got with their 4 kids.

The most truly annoying and irritating thing said to me I don't want to go into, but the most frequent thing comes when I'm out with dd "you know, you're one of those people we gossip about" ... said by people who assume that dd is at least 6 months older than she is, because we chose to have our children close together.

The conversation:

I didn't know you were pregnant?

Yes, I'm due in 5 weeks.

Is it twins?

No!

Well, your huge!

Lovely. Thanks.

I've been getting the opposite comment lately, "You CAN'T BE DUE already!? You're not big enough yet!" Yes, I am. I am plenty big. "Are you sure you're due this soon?" Yes, I've been toting her around long enough. It's like I haven't earned enough stretch marks to be worthy enough.... I think the 25 lb gain is plenty worthy Smile It's just hard to please a preggo woman. Ice cream, anyone?

I get the how are you feeling? ALOT however it's usually when I'm sitting in those very uncomfortable bleachers 3 times a week or at a practice 5 days a week in the STILL 95-100 degree weather :-(. So that actually doesnt bother me much.

My favorite is when someone finds out this is my 6th and they ask "DOn't you know what causes that?" YUP sure do and I LIKE IT!!!! Smile

Yeah I get the typical questions/ comments from strangers and co-workers-- I can deal with most of it.

However, I think the stares bother me the most. It's like they look belly first, and slowly work their way up to my eyes---if they even look at my face at all! You know, I never stared at pregnant woman before I started having kids...I don't get why people do it.

When I was buying a watermelon at the grocery store the cashier asked me if I was trying to smuggle a second watermelon out under my shirt. It was actually pretty funny until I thought about it afterwards and thought..."How dare he?!?!?"

My least favorite comment is "you can go any day now." Why thank you. I am fully aware of that and I am counting down the minutes as I am so uncomfortable.

I totally want a T-Shirt like this. Another pet peeve of mine is, "So when are you leaving?" When I damn well feel like it. Seriously, a student asked me, "What are you going to do if you go into labor?" I said, "Well, I guess I'll just go to the hospital and give birth." Really? I didn't know that pregnant women were supposed to be hidden away in their homes for the last three weeks of pregnancy.

LOL I get this sick satisfaction from going out in public and doing stuff like grocery shopping at 38+ weeks pregnant and seeing the look on people's faces when they ask how far along I am and I tell them I'm due any minute now. The BEST is when you're PAST due and still out and about. People act like you're going to go into labor at any second and they'll have to birth a baby. Love it.

I definitely get constant questions from strangers. The most annoying is when people basically roll their eyes at me and comment how difficult its going to be with 3 kids so close and so young. I just don't get why it's any concern of theirs! I certainly don't care how they spaced out their children :).

Oh! I forgot about this one! Well I probably blocked it out.... This older man behind me at the grocery store line asked me if this baby was an accident because there was no other reason to ruin my perfect one boy one girl family! Like once you have a boy and a girl you must be a crazy person to want more. I was utterly speechless! You just don't ask a person if their unborn child was a mistake! I'm getting mad all over again!

That would def make me angry too! It's as if everyone thinks having one of each is just perfect. I thought having 2 girls would've been great!
