"Mothers Intuition" Theory

So they say that the mother's intuition about the gender of her baby is correct something like 70% of the time. Much more likely to be right than the other old wives tales. So, just wondering, if you've had your gender ultrasound, were your intuitions about your LO's gender correct?

I thought boy, we are having a boy! So mothers intuition was correct for me Biggrin

I was right with both DS's. And I'm thinking a girl for this one - we'll know in 2 1/2 weeks - the anticipation is killing me!

I knew I was pregnant with a boy with DS, but this baby had me stumped. One day I would think girl and the next I would think boy. I wonder if it has something to do with being pregnant with a girl. LOL! Everybody that I have talked to that has been pregnant with a boy knew it was a boy.

With DS1 I knew he was a boy but with DS2 I never got a definate feeling. Sometimes I thought he was a boy and sometimes a girl.

With DS I wanted a boy so bad that I just figured it would be a girl, when the u/s tech said boy I couldn't believe it! And with this one, I am almost positive its another boy. We'll see in June

I've waffled. I've gotten no strong feelings this time around!

I would say it's 50/50. With DS I just knew he was a boy, but his dad is from an all boy family, so maybe that's why? With this pregnancy I really thought girl and boy was I wrong. Maybe I was relying to much on old wives tales.

They've actually done studies that say it's more like 70% correct for women who have a TRUE intuition (not just the "Oh I sure do hope this is a boy/girl" but an ACTUAL feeling). For me, I knew DD was a DD and I knew this little guy was a DS. Like, with DD, I just couldn't imagine her not being a girl. With this pregnancy I've not been able to think of the baby in terms of girl even before I knew.

With both of my boys I knew they were boys. Nevere doubted it for a moment. I haven't the slightest with this baby and it's got me stumped. Time will tell I guess! hahaaaa

That's funny because I had the same experience. With both of my boys I KNEW. With my daughter I wasn't quite sure. But I kind of equate that to wanting a girl so much I couldn't think of it objectively. With my first I didn't care either way what I had. With my second I already had a boy so I desperately wanted a girl. All I could think was girl but I figured it was just because that's what I wanted. This baby I already had one of each so I didn't really have a preference either way. So I felt he was a boy and knew that it was intuition and not preference, KWIM?

Probably Biased....

I have found myself subconsciously referring to this little person as a girl, but I'm afraid that is just because I want a girl. Not that I wouldn't mind a boy. I just know how a little girl's mind works because I was once a little girl myself.:D

I find myself thinking its a boy. I guess we'll see if I'm in the 70% later the week. Smile

With DD I always thought girl and I had a girl...however, with this one, because I want a boy so bad, not sure if that's getting in the way of my 'intuition'. I did do, for fun, the chinese gender test and it came up boy too....so hopefully my desire and my 'blue' thoughts make it happen Smile My test is scheduled 05/27, but I may have to reschedule that since we are going away that weekend. Will definately keep everyone posted though!
