Well, my sweet little baby who was sleeping from 7:30 at night until 3:30 or 4 am has been waking about 6 or 7 times a night (on a good night) since last Thursday. We don't know what in the world is going on. He doesn't act like he normally does when he wakes by accident in the middle of the night. He usually mumbles and coos to himself until he drifts off, but he has been waking up screaming bloody murder. Sometimes he will continue to wake up this way every fifteen to thirty minutes for 2 hours straight. He's teething, so we tried tylenol. We got about 2 1/2 to 3 hours sleep that way. I tried to put him in bed with me, and I got 1 1/2 hours of sleep out of him. I'm a restless sleeper, so that is why that didn't work out. He was a little congested so we also tried irrigating his little nose, but that isn't working. He's also been constipated and gassy. I also tried the whole bicycle legs thing but to no avail.
The hubby is NOT a good night time waker. He's like the walking dead. Physically, he's awake, but mentally, he just isn't there. Thus, he is not able to help as much as he could. So, I've told him to just stay in bed because I'm worried about him accidentally dropping the baby, etc. So, I'm going on maybe about 2 hours of straight sleep today, and my nerves are shot.
Did I mention that he's not in a particularly good mood during the day either? Let's just say at bedtime last night, my nerves were absolutely raw.
So I need advice. What in the world can I do to get my little guy to sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours again? Do you think it's the constipation?
