Ouch!

Today going down our back steps, I slipped and fell straight onto my tailbone, while carrying Gillian in her carseat. I am so gratefull that I kept ahold of the carseat and kept it upright, and kept my arm from coming down in the carseat. Gillian is perfectly okay, wasn't even really shaken up by it. I am also grateful that I didn't hurt anything in my arms or legs. However, a broken tailbone really, really hurts, especially when you're allergic to almost every narcotic, so all I get is advil. The next couple weeks are going to suck ... I can barely walk or bend over.

That sounds really painful! Hope you heal quick and they really need to find a way to make carrying a carseat easier. I always knock my DS in the head when I get the carseat out of the car because I can't see him standing next to me.

I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon! I hate those infant seats, I did get one this time (went straight to convertible with DD), but I still just leave it in the car and take Caleb in and out.

Hi. Lurking.

I've broken my tailbone three times. I know, how can someone BE so clumsy??

Go to CVS or store like that and get an inflatable donut to sit on. It relieves so much pressure. And you can stick a bag of frozen peas in the hole to ice the area.

Yeah, sad that broken tailbone care is the only thing I'm a pro at

Feel better. Advil will probably help better than any other Meds anyway.

So Sorry

Sorry to hear about your tailbone! It sounds really painful. My Mom broke her tailbone when she was a little girl and she said she couldn't move for a week. I hope you recover quickly!

Oh man.. I know how badly it hurts to HIT your tailbone, but I have no idea how much it hurts to break it. I hope you heal quickly and feel better soon!

I'm sitting on one as I write this, it's helping. We're also going to give Annabelle an extra day at her dayhome this week, so that it will be Sat before I have both all day long to myself. A side benefit - DH got to experience looking after both girls by himself for over 6 hours ... and had to call in reinforcements, so now he really realizes just how hard it can be to do.

I can say that I am pretty clumsy and have had many injuries most of which resulted in stitches in my head and knee surgeries, but I've never broken my tail bone! That just sounds painful!! Hope you recover quickly!!

Geez! I'm glad the baby is ok, but that sucks! I have said it about pregnant ladies, but I am adding new moms to the list: Pregnant ladies and new mom should NOT be allowed to get hurt or get sick! It's just wrong!
