I thought I would start one of these. If you've never seen one of these before... it is basically a random chit chat thread. It helps get your post count up to participate in Birth Buddies and Gift Exchanges as well as earning your Crowns.
So, post away... there are no rules. You can post "I just drank some lemonade" and it will be ok. You can rant about a coworker. You can post about your latest purchase or awesome deal. It can also help a board to get to know each other better.
Let's get those post counts up!!!
Notes:
"To participate in Birth Buddies and/or Gift Exchanges: You must have 300 posts total on preg.org and 100 of them must be on this board." copied from another post
"Pencils are awarded once a member hits 150 (Supporter), 400 (Super Poster), 1000 (Prolific Poster), and 2500 (Mega Poster) posts. Crowns are awarded at 5000 posts (Posting Addict)." copied from another post
I'd say to go back to bed, but you have a toddler!
I just woke up before our alarm. When I went to switch it off, I saw that DH hadn't even put it ON last night.. and we both have to work today! It's a good thing I woke up early!!
This weekend is my DD's 3rd birthday and her party! Wish me luck - I've already been back by the store 3 times! Pregnancy brain doesn't remember all the things I need to get.
Ooh, and Anita - I see you live in VA! So do weDo you live in Northern, Tidewater, Southside, Southwestern, or somewhere inbetween?

Goody bags are expensive! I spent a ton on Abby's when we were moving. She wanted to give them out on her last day. I bought the big huge bag of mixed candy. The only non candy items were a pencil and a little notepad that was in the shape of animals. We moved at easter, the animals were spring time animals. It was cute. For 20 bags, i think I did spend between $20-30 though. I hate all the stupid toys.....silly bands are good for those too. Pretty cheap and just put one or two per bag.

Good luck with the bday parties! Poor DD will probably get a bit cheated on her 2nd bday since it will be about 10ish days after this LO is born. I'm sure the presents will more than make up for it.
Another idea for goodie bags... I saw things called Squishies at a craft store (ACMoore) yesterday. Looked like a tube of 3 or 4 gumball machine-like containers with what seemed to be "squishy" little animals that popped out of them. ??? I'm guessing they are trying to be popular like the silly bands. Seemed cute enough. Just a thought.
I never do goody bags. I think I did them for the first birthday and then I realized that its just all junk. I do cookies now and put them in a clear candy bag and tie a cute ribbon on it. Even the big kids enjoy it. I always do the cookies by what type of theme the party is. Like last year was dinosaurs so we had dinosaur cookies!
Here's a pic of the cookies we did last year. I had a bakery do them for me.
