Our first cold!

Sophia went to her first sick doctor visit yesterday! Sad I have to say that I am surprised she managed to keep from getting sick this long. She's been congested for 6 weeks now so the doctor prescribed her antibiotics and she also has a cough. Her pedi thinks that the cough is actually from her reflux so we may have to put her back on Zantac. She also thinks maybe that's why she has been sleeping so poorly for the last 2 months. It is a little ironic that she stops sleeping through the night as soon as I take her off Zantac so maybe her reflux is waking her at night. I really hate having to put my babies on any medication, but we kind of have no choice with this.

On a happier note, she is 14 lbs., 7 oz. and almost sitting up by herself! We started solids just a few weeks early and she's been doing great on them. We started light with some cereal with fruit mixed in it. She only gets about a 1/4 cup, but I'm looking forward to starting veggies and making my own baby food in the next couple of weeks. I can't believe she will be 6 MONTHS OLD in just 2 weeks!

Well at least maybe you have some answers for the lack of sleep. We actually ended up at the dr.'s today as well. Kessler felt a little warm at 6:00 last night (isn't it funny that we can tell even if it's less than a degree warm? He was 99.1) and by 7:30 he was coughing a lot. DD has a reactive airway, so I wasn't taking any chances with Kessler and letting it go. Got him in at 9:30 this morning, but had to see a different doc. Wasn't too happy with him, but he confirmed that it was most likely a cold and did prescribe breathing treatments. I just didn't like how he acted like I brought him in too early. Just a few hours after getting home, he got much worse, so I'm proud of myself for getting him and getting him the treatments started before it got so bad he couldn't breathe. I hope next time I have to go in, we get to see our regular doc. .....didn't mean to highjack your thread with my long story! LOL. But I guess what I meant by all that was we are in the same boat and I feel your pain!!!

I hope she's feeling better now :). Have you guys made a decision about the Zantac yet?

She's still congested so if she's still like that by the end of the week, I'm going to take her back to the doctor. We did put her back on Zantac, but it's not really making a difference in her sleep. She sleeps great with me, but not in her own bed. I don't even know why we have a crib. She's only slept in it twice in the last 6 months. Haha!

Hope she's starting to get better now! It's taken Kessler quite a while to get over the congestion as well. Last night was our first normal night of sleep, so about a 1 1/2 weeks of it.

Looks like Nicholas caught the cold. Poor guy! We just started sleep training too so now I have to delay it. I'd rather snuggle him anyways. I hope your LO's are feeling better! I hope this passes quickly!
