Oh my goodness... I'm so glad you & the LO are ok. Was DS in the car with you? I hope you are able to get the car situation resolved without too much trouble. That must have been so scary.

Wow! So glad that you did have a new car and everything functioned as it should. That's amazing. If you have a new car with insurance, you should be fine on coverage. KUP on how you're doing. Again - so glad that you're ok!

Glad that you are ok, and that baby seems fine.

Remember that any car seats in your car will need to be replaced.

And, it definitely sounds like the other driver was at fault. We are waiting to hear what insurance is going to do with our car...

Thanks. I was on the way to pick up DS, I am glad he wasn't with me.
State law requires all vehicles to have insurance or its a big to-do and so yeah some people break the law but its much rarer now as you can't renew your tag without proof of insurance.
So we both should have coverage and the police report will be ready tomorrow with the verdict as to who is at fault. But... she cut across 2 lanes of oncoming traffic to make a left turn. Technically she is at fault.

I am glad we were all ok, I just hope I can get a new car just like mine after it is all said and done without it costing me anything.

At least DS wasn't with you too... that would've made it even scarier for you I'm sure. Remember, your new car seats should also be covered by the insurance as well if they were in the car.

Also, stand your ground if it was her fault. If necessary, don't hesitate to contact an attorney for advice. I've seen some crazy things when it comes to insurance companies & excuses. I saw one case that was similar to yours... the lady that was making the left turn (she was actually turning left on red)... had the insurance company believing that she had a turn arrow (there wasn't even a turn arrow at that intersection to have) & the car that Tboned her ran a red light (which they didn't because they had the green light). Hoping your case will go much smoother!

Yikes! I'm glad you're okay! Cool thing is you get new car seats :). And if your state is like mine you can get whichever one you want, it doesn't have to be comparable to the one you have now :).

That's so scary! I'm so glad you are alright!
It sounds like the other driver is probably at fault in which case their insurance will most likely pay.
Just an interesting side-note (as I've been in a couple of minors, not at fault, with DS in the carseat), in Cali if your child is in the carseat at the time the accident occurred, no matter how small the impact, the insurance is REQUIRED to pay for a brand new carseat or be charged about 10,000 dollars in fines.
I'm really glad your car did what it was supposed to do! It's such a relief to know that cars can do so much for your safety nowadays!
Again, I'm glad you're alright!!!!!!

Oy!! What a scare! Sometimes these things have to happen, and we just have to be thankful that it was with minimal bodily damage. If you can get some arnica homeopathic, you should take it. It will help with the soreness and any trauma.

also, an important thing to check (cuz we are still dealing with a ridiculous accident from almost 3 years ago (pg w/ DS2) make sure you get all the paperwork so that the insurance pays for your hospital visit. I don't know how your car/health insurance works, but do that legwork and make sure you don't get any bills from the hospital!

yay for airbags and amniotic fluid!!

wow. it def. did the job. It's amazing how far they've come. If you were in a car without airbags you would have had some serious head trauma
