please no teeth yet!

DD didn't get teeth for quite some time..I can't quite remember when, I need to go back and look. So when I originally claimed that when Kessler got teeth, I'd stop breast feeding I didnt' think about the fact that some babies get them early. He's knawing on his hands like crazy and drooling up a storm. I still don't see anything coming through, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that he's not actually getting ready to cut teeth...last night DH says, I hope he is getting teeth. my response: Why?....his: No more breastfeeding.....I asked him why he didn't like it. He said something about glad I did it in the beginning but he was ready for me to stop or something to that nature...I think he's officially jealous or missing them. LOL. I'm just not ready to stop for many reasons but most importantly b/c it's the middle of winter and I want to protect him as much as possible from any germs DD may bring home from preschool.

My baby has been showing all of the signs of teething--constantly gnawing on hand, drooling like crazy, decreased appetite, etc. for 2 months and still no teeth...so hopefully you have some time

Sophia is doing the same thing. She started at 2 months and I thought for sure she was teething, but her doctor said that it's normal. She said that babies find their hands at this stage and are fascinated by them and she said that the drooling will get worse before it gets better. That being said though, DS was an early teether so I'm still convinced that she is teething. DS teethed at 4 months and got his first tooth at 5 months. I only remember because it was during Christmas Eve dinner when his first tooth broke through. Not a pleasant dinner! LOL! I do still plan on bfing when she gets teeth, but I am so NOT looking forward to it!

I can see Gillian's teeth under the gum, getting more prominent week by week. She defintely likes it when I rub her gums, so I'm figuring sometime in the next 6 weeks - Annabelle is a very slow teether so I figure Gillian will be to.

Callan has been doing the exact same thing, we go through so many bibs a day as he is soaked due to gnawing his hands and drooling. My girls never did this and both of them were close to 1 when they got there teeth. A couple of days this week his cheeks have been red too so I am scared it might be teeth lol I want to try and bf with teeth but am def nervous about it.

Completely off topic but want to share, today is the first day since Callan was 4 days old he will not have had any formula I am so excited :)

Congrats Emma!!!!....maybe Kessler just found his hands lately and loves them. That's what I'm hoping for. I looked back at the family website and Abby didn't start cutting a tooth until 7 months, so I'm hoping for the same with Kessler.

Brenna is constantly chewing on her hands and drooling. My doc seem to dismiss it as it is normal and she should not be teething just yet. It seems to soothe her to suck on her hands. (it totally grosses me out)

Thanks guys, Dana I am beyond excited lol but so many people just don't understand my excitement lol I am so over this soaking wet cold hands and bibs already lol

It could go either way I guess. My first DD I saw the drooling and mouthing everything about 3 months. She didn't get her first tooth until she was 10m old. My second DD was doing the same thing around 3 months, and I "knew" it was just the normal baby stuff and SURELY she wouldn't be getting teeth. I noticed two broken through the gums the week before she turned 4 months old. Not just under the gums BROKEN THROUGH you could feel little sharp teeth in there. It was crazy. I'm interested to see when E will get his teeth after having both extremes maybe he'll just get them around 6 months old. :)

Anyway, I've nursed 2 babies with teeth and it's not a big deal at all. When they get bottom teeth their tongues cover it so you don't notice at all. when they get top teeth their latch can be a little off when they're learning how to latch with teeth.
