We spent close to three hours registering at Babies R Us today!! I forgot how much stuff a little baby needs. DH had too much stuff to do at the house so I took my mom with me. I'm kind of glad because DH and I would just argue over what we need and don't need. This way he has no say in it. Now I just can't wait until the baby is here so we can play with all her neat stuff and I'm also really looking forward to trying out my new breast pump. LOL!
This morning, I also felt the first kick (with my hand). Sophia has been kicking a lot since Friday and she seems to kick most when I'm laying down in bed. She's even kicking right now as I type this. I just had my hand on my tummy this morning trying to fall back to sleep after my 5th trip to go pee and I felt a nudge against my hand. I can tell that she is going to be so different than her brother though just based on her personality in my tummy! LOL!
We also bought her coming home outfit at Children's Place! Here is a picture of it!
awe, what a sweet outfit!
With being due in January my baby will be covered in so many blankets it wont matter what the outfit is...

very sweet little outfit. I would be very tired after such a busy day. I'll probably have one of those today, though I don't think I'll try to register today. Dr.'s is 42 miles away, so Abby and I will enjoy some browsing in stores and McDonald's after the appointment.
Congrats! Cute dress! I am eager to do a registry even though I doubt people will look at it lol. Seems like at baby showers a lot of people just pick up clothes and don't bother with the registry. I seriously have no idea where to start. There's too much crap out there that I believe I don't really need. It'd be nice to get a list that was just the practical bare necessities and didn't have all that extra stuff on it lol.
Babies R Us gives you a list of things that you may need which is really helpful! I have about 110 items on my registry and about 95% of it is stuff that we will need. Even the playmats they have out and activity sets like walkers is a must need when you are trying to get stuff done around the house. The only stuff I registered for that I don't need is the nursery decorations and gift keepsake stuff. It seems overwhelming at first, but once I got there, my memory came back to me and I remembered what I really needed and don't need.
I for one know about the bare necessities. I did it with the minimum. With DD we were pretty far from family and only had 1 baby shower. I had to save every penny for the 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave, so there wasn't much left to splurge on stuff. I also gladly took hand-me-downs. My swing, pack-n-play, cradle and bumbo were all given to me and I found my breast pump on craigslist for $40 and got the attatchments while at the hospital from the lactation consultant and they put it on the insurance bill. Serioulsy, you don't need 25 bottles. I think I may of had 8.
