Shhhhh....

I feel like that's all I am saying these days when DS and my SO get home in the evening. They are so loud and it wakes Nicholas up. I thought it was alittle early for having to be quiet around LO but I can tell he wakes up to it. It is so quiet around the house during the day so I wonder if that's why he is distruted by it when they get home.
Now I have to figure out where I can put him to sleep when they are home because he sleeps in our room and we are hanging out in there in the evenings.
Anyone else having this issue?

Oh by the way... after 10 long weeks of waking up every (and I mean EVERY!) 2 hours.. He finally is sleeping 4 hours at a time! YAY!!!

congrats on sleeping for 4 hours! As far as the noise goes, I try to keep it pretty noisy here during the day so the evenings aren't different for him. His room is off of the kitchen, so luckily he's been sleeping through when I clank the dishes around and supper time if he's sleeping in his room. Right now (because we're having napping issues this morning) I've finally gotten him to sleep and my I Phone is playing a song called Lullaby by the Dixie Chicks. It's on repeat and it's the only thing that calmed him down after being WAY over tired.

Congrats on the 4 hours! I'm imposing quiet an hour before bedtime here. No loud toys, tv, etc. It's helping Annabelle calm down before bed, and Gillian time to calm down from being overstimulated usually by her sister. Gillian currently naps downstairs with us during the day, although soon I'll work on getting her napping in her crib upstairs.

I am no help as I am POSITIVE Alli could sleep through an earthquake, hurricane, and tornado all at the same time. Pretty much nothing wakes her up....not the other kids screaming, or the vaccum, radio, TV......if its just her and I at home I keep the TV on usually one of the music stations so she is used to it.

Yes! Sophia can sleep through any loud noise, but the moment DS opens his mouth, she wakes up. I don't know what it is about him that wakes her up. I haven't really found a solution for it and I'd hate to make DS not talk all day so I just kind of deal with it.

Congrats on sleeping for 4 hours! Smile

I played Lullaby for DS when he was little and sing it to Nicholas before bed too! Great song!

Also, when is everyone putting their LO down for bed at night? Usually it's about 10pm here even though I try for 7pm every night and he wakes up and stays awake cause there is just to much going on until I am ready for bed.

Alli usually has a bottle around 730-8 and goes to sleep then *I* usually wake her around 11 to feed her again so I can go to bed so I count 11 as her "bedtime" not the 730-8......I let her sleep straight through one night from the earlier feeding, while she only woke once at like 230-3 it is worth it for me to "dream feed" her at 11 and her sleep until 5 or 6.

No real advice. Owen wakes up easily during the day too and he's around my (very loud) daughter all day. At least he's sleeping mostly through the night. But he doesn't nap during the day like most babies, he's awake a LOT.

No bedtime either. He pretty much goes to bed when we do, which ranges from 8:30 to 11:30 or later. I think starting tonight he's going to start sleeping in his crib tho. He's been in our bed since he was born but he's mostly STTN so i guess it's time for him to get the boot Beee

I'm starting bedtime at routine at 8 ... although usually she's been sleeping for a couple hours before for the last few weeks, so I guess it's more like 6ish

Yes, this!! Smile Actually, my kids HELP me get Aidan to sleep. Yesterday when my husband came home he found my 4 year old pushing Aidan around wrapped tightly in a blanket in her pink doll stroller. He was sound asleep. When he started to cry again my 3 year old took over "stroller duty" and quickly he settled down again.

Anyway, as far as noise goes. I remember with my first, and somewhat with my 2nd that they got use to sleeping when it was quiet. It is hard when it's just you to keep the noise level up. I remember loving that little break of silence in the day when the baby was asleep... oh those were the days. Smile

No set bedtime for Aidan yet. I have my girls in bed at around 8 though. It seems that around 8ish is also when Aidan seems to conk out for the night as well, but that's just what he has settled into right now. Sometimes it's a bit earlier, or a bit later.

If Caleb is asleep he doesn't need it quiet. But if I try to put him down and he doesn't really want to be down then any little noise sets him off . He takes his naps out in the living room with all of us moving around and talking though, and my kids LOVE to talk! My older 2 go to sleep at 7:30, I do my best to get Caleb down then too. But it's hit or miss on that :).
