Thursday QOTD

Are you getting a Halloween costume or outfit for this LO? If you have other children, will you be getting their costumes ready before birth?

Yes & yes... I've already got both costumes. I bought a previously worn one for DD & a brand new one for DS at a consignment type sale for $4 total. DD will be a bumblebee & DS has a chili pepper bunting.

Hopefully, I will be able to go TnTing with DD at our local church event. People hand out candy from their trunks in the parking lot. Quick, safe & simple. Smile

Abby Kate's will be ready before the baby comes since I'm not due until October 22. Not sure if I'll make the costume or just buy it like last year. As far as the baby....not sure. Will probably just have him in a halloween themed onsie/outfit/sleeper. Something to that nature. If I finally get around to learning to use a knitting loom, I may make a pumpkin hat for him.

I have no clue what we will do for halloween this year??? We usually just see what costumes we can find at the local thrift stores as the time draws near. We're really not big into halloween, or large amounts of sugar, BUT, the kids do like to dress up and do a little something.

I'll probably pick up a costume for Annabelle in Sept, and a sleeper for lo. Depending on how I'm healing, I'll either send Annabelle out with dad or go myself.

I've been asking DD1 on and off what she wants to be. when she sticks to something for a while, we'll decide on it for sure. I'm going to get their costumes early though.
I haven't decided if I'm dressing Egan up or not. Probably just getting a sleeper or something, I have to wait to see what is available when the time comes. Wink

Well DH wants DS to be Harry Potter for Halloween so we are dressing him up as that, and since this LO will only be born like 10days MAX before Halloween (and its mostly chilly around here at the end of Oct) we are going to take her out for a little bit but just get her a little winter type hat that looks like an Owl, so she could be Harry's owl Hedwig.
Kinda like this one- http://www.etsy.com/listing/65308369/crochet-pattern-mystic-owl-hat-5-sizes?utm_source=googleproduct&utm_medium=syndication&utm_campaign=GPS

DS is old enough to picka costume he likes o I'll probably take him to the store before LO is here and have him pick one out. He will probably pick Buzz Lightyear. As for the baby, probably just the sleeper I bought for him and then I will do pics of him in a pumpkin showing how small he is. We might go to the mall this year if it's to cold outside so we can take the baby.

Here's the bunting costume I got for DS...

If you google, "infant bunting halloween costume" it will give you more ideas. The link above has more choices for costumes too.

I don't pay alot for costumes. I look for deals at consignment sales, Walmart or resell stores like Once Upon A Child.

I already have a halloween gender neutral sleeper leftover from DD so I will be reusing that as well. Sleepers are another option if you don't do the costume route. Here's a sleeper similar to the one I have...

DD has already chosen out a costume, and I've washed and cut the fabric. I will sew it before this LO arrives, which reminds me.. I need to get sewing! She really wants her baby brother to be a penguin. If I have time (haha), I'll make one of those sleep bags in black with a hood. I'll put a white oval on the stomach and a beak and eyes on the hood Smile

Haven't thought about it

Maybe I'll buy a little orange sleeper with a picture of candy corn or something on it.

Owen will probably have a bunting costume. I'm going to try to get Savannah's costume ready early but it likely won't happen. I'm a procrastinator.

I have been looking a bee costumes online. There is a cute one that has a onesie with a picture of a bee as well as a cute back and yellow tulle/net skirt. I've been trying to decide if I think I could make something like that . . . Maybe. Smile

If I come across something cute while I'm getting my other kids costumes I'll get it but otherwise I'll just get a sleeper. I don't even know why I do halloween costumes TBH! I don't take them trick or treating because I don't want them eating a bunch of candy and I certainly don't need a ton of candy!

Not sure how I missed this yesterday? for dd2 we where givin a unicorn costume this year for her and we still have the duck costume for dd3 that was way to big on her lst year that should fit her this year. For this LO I will wait to see if it's another girl or if it's a boy before i buy a costume and it will most likely be from a cosignment shop as money has been tight this year. Next year I will let dd2 pick out her own costume and dd3 will get the unicorn costume.

Not sure if we are getting something for this LO. DD changes her mind all the time. When I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween, she said a scary baby-- (not sure where she got that from) and now she wants to be Ariel from the Little Mermaid, if she sticks with that, we may just get a yellow sleeper or something to make this LO be Flounder or something.
