    Smile Thursday QOTD

After you are full term... Are you entertaining any ideas to encourage labor? Some people try anything from DTD to eggplant parmesan to nipple stimulation.

I'm not... I want DS to stay put until my csect on the 4th.

Last time, I wanted DD to come early & she made me wait until 5 days post EDD. I think I tried a few wives tales but nothing with any seriousness.

Unlikely we'll make it to term as I didn't with DD. If we do, I probably won't push it. He will come on his own time

Probably not. I need all the time I have left to get everything ready - and the closer the the end of October it gets, the closer we get to the end of harvest and having my DH back on a regular schedule.

I would say yes off the bat but knowing I've done nothing yet I'll probably need her to stay in there. I don't think I did anything with DS#1 and he was 10 days late - I DID NOT want to share him with the world - I was having some serious issues with that and I was in a wedding the day before I was due that I really wanted to be at. With DS#2 I ate a lot of pineapple and we DTD and it sent me into false labor but we did the whole hospital thing but the contractions did not stop and were uncomfortable for a week and they kicked my butt so all I did after that was lay on the couch for a week - so in a way it had the effect I wanted but then made me do the opposite. I have no idea how anxious I'll be - maybe if I get her room done and all of that.

im going to start walking in the evening the first week of october, the weather will finally be cool enough to enjoy being outside, and I know its good for me. Im sure it will help moive baby down, but I dont think it will cause labor.

A friend of mine is a massage therapist and said she would do a prenatal massage on me that helps naturall get labor started, we might go for that mid october.

but other then that, no medical intervention of any kind.

I guess since it seems like I may go early then I haven't really been entertaining many ideas. DTD is definitely out of the question, it's just too uncomfortable. If I do need to get labor started, I have thought about using my breast pump for nipple stimulation. If it comes to it and I actually make it full term, then I'll ask my doctor to sweep my membranes (only if nothing else is working). I'm not going to try the pineapple thing. My sister tried it and it didn't work for her. I love pineapple too much to take the chance of becoming sick of it just to start labor. She can't even eat it anymore.

The only thing I have done in the past was drink raspberry leaf tea. I think I started at about 34 weeks. Can't take it this time as they recommend if you have had a labour faster than 3 hours not too. My last labour was 1hr 45mins from first contraction to delivery. Don't really want it to be much faster than that this time lol. I also really want him to be late as long as he comes before 2 weeks over so they won't make me go in for an induction. Oh I did have a membrane sweep last time, at 6 days over. Had it in the morning then had Macey that night.

Don't think I'd try anything until I'm within days of her due date, I'd like to make it until at least the 8th. Might let my pedicurist do a full massage including the pressure point, but other than that can't see really trying anything.
