Tired!!!

I know I'm not in the 3rd trimester yet, but I think I hit the tiredness stage. For the past 2 days I can barely stay awake. I am starting to slow down and in the evening I am just plain grouchy. Hopefully it's just a phase, but I am getting close to the 3rd trimester so who knows. I can definitely see my belly getting bigger and in the way and weighing me down now. I'm definitely getting more anxious to meet his baby, I just didn't know it would come this soon. It should still be the honeymoon stage.

Anyone else starting to slow down?

I'm right there with you, girl! I have been going to bed so early lately and it seems that it all starts going down hill after lunch...like now! LOL! I have started feeling really pregnant this week. I'm not walking as fast now, have a hard time shaving my legs or painting my toes, and I'm starting to get all the aches and pains that come with the 3rd trimester already even though I'm still several weeks away from it. I think it has something to do with being my 2nd pregnancy. I have some really busy weeks ahead of me and I just don't know how I will keep up now.

Ask your doctor to check your iron levels, many women at this stage need an iron supplement as there isn't enough in your prenatal vitamins (you need a juicy steak or a lot of spinach everyday to get it through diet). Severe fatigue and a body with no "get up and go" can be a sign of anaemia. I get this and feel so much better with the iron pills!

I had been craving steak since Saturday and finally talked DH into taking to me out for a steak dinner last night. I wonder if that's why I was craving it so bad. I was anemic with DS so it's possible I am now too!

It totally could be!! My doc told me that most things you crave are because your body needs them in some way! Not sure why my body wants Nerds, but I don't think it works for everything. Wink

I have been really tired for quite some time, really it has been my only complaint(until my hips started killing me this last wknd). When my boys are ready for their naps around 1 or 2pm I am ready to nap with them. Some days I have too much going on but other days I just dont have a choice because my eyes just wont stay open anymore. I feel like a zombie. Mornings are ok but that is when my boys are most energetic too and they wear me out pretty quickly! He is sweet most of the time but my DH just doesnt understand, I wish there was a way to give this to him for a day or two so he would get it. I have already gained 14 pounds, I was thinking of tucking hand weights equally 14 pounds into his waistband and seeing how he makes it thourgh the day like that.
Bedtime has been even more of a struggle than usual. I just dont have my normal patience with the boys since I am so exausted and ready for bed. I just want them to quiet down and goto sleep so I can crawl into bed myself. Speaking of...it is naptime.
ps, good thinking on the iron, I will look into that myself!

I actually just started taking an over the counter iron pill. I eat alot of hamburgers and steak too but I do notice when I start to get hungry I get really tired and it's hard to function. I don't have another appt for a few weeks but I think I will mention it next time. Doesn't the GD test diganose anemia too?

I think it does because I believe that is when I found out I was anemic last time.

I've noticed every poster in this thread so far has at least one little one at home, my guess is that could also have something to do with it too! I know I'm not anemic, but I've been so tired this whole pregnancy. The kids just wear me out!

I'm going for the GD test next week, so I guess I will find out then. I didn't have it last time, but I've always needed more sleep then most people and this LO wakes me up early in the morning by kicking my sides for 20 min.

Good point about having LO's already! I am definitely working harder then last time!

I'm usually pretty tired by lunch as well, but I've been doing crazy yard work with the vegetable garden and moving cement pavers. On those days, I'm usually spent by noon.
