Unhappy That wasn't what I wanted to hear... 37 week appt *UPDATED*

So... my appt pretty much sucked the wind out of my sails. My BP was high (140/80). I don't think my BP has ever been that high. I had to get blood work done but they won't have the results until tomorrow morning. With my other symptoms (floaters in the eye, headaches, pain near my liver, pink tinged discharge, etc), the dr was concerned. I didn't have protein in my urine. Ethan sounded great... so that was good!

Depending on what the blood work says, I may have to deliver earlier than 2 weeks. I really don't want to deliver any earlier but I guess I don't get to choose at this point. I have to go twice a week until the Ethan is born to have my BP checked. And, I'm now on partial rest... not bedrest... but he told me I had to stay hydrated & rest. No more going out or doing too much... he was very firm about that.

I'm sort of freaking out & bummed at the same time. I really want to hold DS but I just don't feel ready to have him THIS WEEK. Crossing my fingers that the blood work isn't bad. At least, I'm full term today... that is a bright spot.

    UPDATE...
The dr said my blood work was ok for now... so I guess that's good. I still have to go in twice a week for a BP check (once at my appt & then again later in the week). So, I will be going tomorrow for that. Hopefully, that will be ok.

I've rested some today. My mom came over to help with DD & stuff around the house like laundry, etc. Being so stressed this week probably hasn't helped. I'm trying to manage it as best as I can... too many deadlines all at once but they have to be done.

I k ow how you feel! At my appt I measured eight weeks more than two weeks ago! I'm 33 measuring 37. I'm already being induced at 38, but if the trasound shows my dd even earlier I'll be induced two weeks before the new date putting me around 37. I know it's considered full term but it would nice if they baked a little longer! Be strong, you are getting good care. Sometimes you just have to put your trust in the hands of the doctor. Nothing more you can do.

I hope your blood work comes back ok! I think lots of cold water only to drink and resting on your side should help! I hope it does and you will make it to your scheduled date!

Oh goodness, that's a lot to deal with. I am sorry.

Have they checked you for dilation? Any contractions? Maybe your in early labor and its just the way your body is dealing?

Having baby a bit early will be ok, your health is important.

I'm so sorry, Anita! I hope that your blood pressure comes down and that those other symptoms abate. I also hope your DD can give you a break.

I haven't had any internals since I'm a csect. They aren't necessary this time & last time they caused horrible contractions. I've had my share of BH as well as actual contractions. It is actually physically impossible to bend over now... something (I'm assuming its DS) is blocking me. I don't remember having that problem last time.

I told my DH it was his fault my BP was high since he aggravated me during football Sun. I was just kidding of course.

I hope your blood work comes back normal and your bp comes down. Hopefully the rest helps.

I'm sorry!! Hopefully they will let you continue to bake that baby for at least another week. Hang in there and try not to get too stressed over this. Go down BP!!!!
