Weekend QOTD

What is your hair maintenance routine? Do you have a regular appointment at a salon for a hair cut &/or hair color? Or... Are you the do it yourself type?

I get a hair cut & color every 6-8 weeks at a salon.

I went from a natural dirty blonde to a reddish color about 4 years ago on the recommendation of my stylist... & I love it! (Now its essential to cover grey that I'm in denial about.) Wink I try to stay somewhat 'on trend' with my hairstyle... Although lately, I haven't put much effort in styling.

I don't make an appointment way ahead of time, but whenever I feel the need for a cut, I call and make one. I think the first day Abby is in preschool, I'll treat myself to a cut. It's hard going with a 4 year old. I like small, low key places.
I have never colored my hair....though I don't know how long I can go without it since I've been plucking a few gray hairs lately!

I have a cut about 2-3 times a year. I also get the thinning shears as I have really thick red hair. Usually the more abuse my hair takes the better is behaves. I wash/dry/straight iron every 3 days or I look like Medusa.

I don't get it cut nearly enough but when I do I go to a salon.

I have weird hair... it's naturally curly but I've worked so hard to keep it straight that the natural curl has relaxed a LOT and now it's curly on the bottom but nearly flat on the top. I had it chemically straightened in 2008 and again in 2009, so that's ALLLLLMOST grown out now. So I'm hoping that in the next year I'll be able to find someone who can actually cut curly hair correctly and I can start wearing it more natural again.

About the only thing I haven't done to my hair in my life is full color. I've done highlights tho.

I'd love to grow it out really long and let it be curly but my hair doesn't grow fast at ALL and it gets split ends very easily, so...

My daily routine- shampoo twice, deep condition, frizz reducing stuff, blow dry, flat iron. It's quite a chore

Well I am bad about keeping up with cuts for myself.....usually once maybe twice a yr. My hair is naturally curly, super thick and about to my waist (its been spending alot of time in a bun with our massive heat wave). I usually color it 2-3 times a yr.

My DD has my hair only hers looks naturally highlighted. I've gotten comments since she was 3 asking me if I color it?? WTF?? NO I dont color my childs hair...lol. SHe has only had ONE cut her entire life.

Heck it costs me $40 to get all 4 boys hair cut and they have to have one every 6-8 weeks otherwise they start to look shaggy. We keep their hair extremely short.

I don't do a lot with my hair other than color it at home every 8-10 weeks. I should definetly get it cut more frequently than I do, but I just never seem to find the time to do it.

I'm pretty simple. I wash and condition my hair every day. I also get a hair cut 2-3 times per year. Since being pregnant, my hair has enjoyed a growth spurt and it is suddenly very wavy. I definitely have to dry it if I am going to go somewhere and I think I'll have to have it cut an extra time this year due to these changes. Smile

I wash and condition every time I shower. Which in theory is every night after my kids fall asleep... But it doesn't always happen with toddlers who don't like to sleep and my current addiction to sleep! Then I put anti frizz stuff in it and let it air dry. I have pretty low maintenance hair, it's wavy but not really curly and while I have a ton of it it's pretty fine. I used to get it cut at a salon every 2 or 3 months, but stopped when my BFF found out she had cancer. We used to get out hair cut together, so I can't go without her! Now I just have my mom trim it and once it gets down to my butt I cut it and donate it to Locks of Love(it grows pretty fast). I used to dye it all the time, but I never do it while pregnant/breastfeeding. I know they say its safe, but I feel more comfortable staying away from all unnecessary chemicals. So I haven't done anything to it in over 4 years lol. I'm dyeing for a change though! After this LO right?

2-3 times a year I get a cut because my hair grows so slow, When i'm preggo it grows super fast and than it's every 6 weeks and I color every 10-12 weeks. I color myself but have a reg girl I go to for the hair cuts.

I feel your pain on someone being able to cut curly hair correctly. The problem is I've always tried to wear it both ways, but no one seems to be able to give me a cut to provide that.
It's funny that most of us with curly, thick hair still insist on wearing it straight. I faught the humidity all my life down south, but it's so much easier where I live here.

I haven't had a hair cut in over a year. I just always seem to forget to schedule it. It goes through unmanageable phases and I wear it in a pony tail until I get so mad I finally schedule something. But this time it grew past that stage and I kind of like it long. I said the other night I might schedule to get some layers cut in it/cut the ends off sometime in September.

I wash it anytime I can get a shower, and I air dry it. If it doesn't look good I just wear it in a ponytail.

I go fairly regularly depending on the style. I don't color my hair so I don't have to go to routine appt's for that, but I had my hair in the Assymetrical bob last year and earlier this year and i LOVED it, but I'm not deciding to let it grow...so since my ends aren't bad, I haven't gone to the salon since March. I plan on going once I am on Maternity Leave to have a fresh new 'do when I get back. (Not sure if it will be something new or back to the assymetrical)
