Post Went to Urgent Care (not for baby)

I ended up going to urgent care this evening because of what I thought was a spider bite on my stomach. While on vacation, I was in so much pain in the "bite" area. It felt like someone was holding a lit match to my stomach. I came so close to going to the emergency room while in FL. I bought some antibiotic cream, put a band aid on it and by Saturday the pain was gone so I thought it was getting better. Today I noticed this red scaly rash all around the area so DH talked me into getting it checked out. He was worried that if it was a venomous spider than maybe the venom is spreading and was really worried about the baby.

Well I went and saw the doctor. Still not sure what the "bite" was (could be an abscess), but good news is that it healed, bad news is that the redness is from an allergic reaction to the band aid. I developed a latex allergy while pregnant with DS and the doctor thinks it could be the same thing now. I swear, the crazy things our body goes through. LOL! The urgent care center was awesome though. They took me back right away since I'm pregnant and I was in and out in 25 minutes. Plus I didn't have to pay anything so they didn't have to treat me! Great service and I'm so relieved that I finally got it checked out!

Wow, glad you're okay! I had a similar thing happen when I was pregnant with DD.. I reacted more to the BANDAID adhesive than I did the flu shot! Keep feeling better Oh, and I LOVE the preferential treatment you got at the ER. It's great that pregnant ladies are taken seriously!

that's so wild! Pregnancy does strange things to our bodies. Glad all is well though.
I can't drink milk anymore. I think I'm a little lactose intolerant. Wierd.
