Anyone else not found heartbeat on doppler yet?

Am I the only one who can't find the HB??

Im becoming the crazy stressed out person that I feared. haha

According to my last u/s I should be at least 8 and a half weeks by now...

Just searched all over...but no luck..

Argh...

Any tips?

8 weeks is still really early to find the baby on a Doppler. A full bladder will help and the baby should still be very low, like just above the pubic bone. Your uterus should only be around the size of a large orange at this point, so keep that in mind when checking.

For me, this baby has been very low and off to my left each time.

That is still really early Cait, most doctors won't even try before 10 weeks. I don't have a doppler so I haven't gotten to hear it yet either. Sad

I generally find it right above the hair line and slightly to the left. I find it easier with my back slightly arched (so a pillow behind the small of my back helps). Sometimes the little guy hides behind where my heart is beating loudly so I can't get a good reading. My luck with it has been hit or miss and I'm over 9 weeks. I'm going to go try here in a bit since I only found it for a split second a couple of days ago after lots of searching.

Try not to worry my dear!

I know it's hard but try not to fret over it. I am one to talk tho lol I worry over eveything. 8 wks is still quite early for a hb on the Doppler like said above. With my 2nd dd I was at the obs at 10 wks and they searched for what seemed like forever and found nothing. They wouldn't give me an u/s then either (they are very stingy with them but better now) since there was no indication of anything being wrong. They had me come back at 13 wks and there it was. Most of us who have found the hb early have done it before w/ other pregnancies. Like said above a full bladder may help raise your uterus up. Sometimes an empty one is good though. Move the wand very slowly, use plenty of gel, start at the midline of your pubic bone pushing down a little then move slightly to the left or right. I almost always find the baby on the mid left side above my pubic area.

When i found the baby around 8 weeks it was always in the same area.. First you have to put a pillow under your lower back to raise your hips up then try right around the hair line and push down decently hard.. It will take a little bit but you will find it. Don't do it until DS is sleeping tonight so you can hear really well.. Should sound like a galloping horse.. Happy Hunting

You might have a retroverted uterus (tilted backward). If so, it will be a little later before you can hear it. Mine is retroverted, and it took until about 10 weeks, when it got big enough to straighten out, before the m/w could get the h/b on the doppler. Most women's uterus is tilted to the front or the back, particularly after having had a baby. It's completely normal.

I haven't found one yet, but I think our doppler is a bit old. I keep trying but I remember with my 3rd, that it took a while-- maybe until I was 16 weeks?!?

Both of my previous pregnancies, my HB couldt be found by a doppler until 10 weeks, despite efforts of my midwives at 8 and 9. Don't worry! It will happen soon.
