Belly Bands??

Support belly bands. A helpful thing to have or a waste of money? Thoughts please.

My friend had to wear one when she was pregnant with twins, so I guess they're useful. I had one of the post baby ones after my c/s and I found it incredibly useless.

Are you talking about the support belts or the bands to help your clothes fit? I've never used the belts. I never felt like I needed one. I am living in the Bella Band though. We seem to have lost my box of maternity clothes in the move. If I didn't have the band, I wouldn't have any pants to wear!

I wore a BellyBra last pregnancy but now I am afraid I'll be too big for the one I already own, will have to size up. I've been researching other bands & tried on a band at Motherhood that I felt was so huge in the back and decided against it. With my 1st pregnancy, never wore anything and all was fine.

I bought the Bella Band thing to help keep pants up- but this one is really long, and even though its a small it doesnt seem tight enough, so I havent loved it. I got some last time around from motherhood maternity and they worked so great!! it was nice wearing "normal" jeans.

The other day I took a pony-tail and looped it around my pants button and the hole and then wore a long tank over it- that worked even better haha

maternity support belts can truly be a blessing...depending on what insurance you have, you may luck out and not have to pay a penny like i did for mine, but it's a really neat thing. i was having major back issues, sciatica along with a herniatied disc so my ob wrote me a prescription for one, apparantly most orthopedic or prostetic places will size you for one, and you will be able to wear it all through the 3rd tri even being this early on...but definitely worth the time. i can work longer because of mine, and the back pain went away almost instantaneously.

I've been thinking of getting one for back support when I'm exercising. My back really hurts afterwards, probably because I can't keep my core as tight as I should now. Nothing like holding a plank for over a minute with a heavy belly hanging down!

I had one of those bella bands for wearing normal clothes and the dang thing kept rolling up or down. I'm not a huge fan. I just wear long shirts and I'll do the rubber band trick if needed. My pants are pretty lowcut because I can button them still.

it really is worth the investment...i only wish i got one sooner. i was very skeptical to get one but after i gave up on the rest and decided to give it a try i do not regret it.

I've been thinking of getting one of the support ones. My back has ben hurting a lot more this time that it did with DS. I am starting to get sciatic pain that makes me drop to the floor occasionally. I think I'll have to look into it.

make sure when you do, depending on your insurance, you may not even have to pay a penny for one. the best place to get one is from a orthopedic/prostetic office. as long as your ob writes a referral script for them to fit you for one it won't cost you a penny. when i got mine, the office specifically ordered me one to fit my body as it growed. the other awesome thing is mine has an insert in it where you can remove it from the back, microwave the back part (it's like a foamy cardboard piece that gives your back support and take the belly weight off your back. if you microwave the insert it shapes to your body frame alot better) and when you put it back it, the heat helps if i do have back pain. i

i've went all throughout this pregnancy with sciatic pain, had horrible back pain beforehand and to be honest i've tried everything. this has helped significantly.if you all are interested i can post a pic.
