Braxton Hicks????

My belly tightened up like a rock after dinner this evening. Across the top. No pain, it just got really hard. My MIL says its Braxton Hicks. I don't remember getting anything like it last time. Certainly not this early. Could she be right? And if so, should I be worried that it's a little early? I was 19 weeks yesterday.

Mine started, about the same time, I drink extra water when they happen and rest. I went through 3 nights in a row with them but lately they subsided again but I'm sure they'll return.

It's not too early for BH. I've gotten them earlier with each pregnancy and not had any pre-term problems. You need to worry if you have them at all regularly, but one here and there is no problem. I've had a few while I've been working out and took that as a sign that I need to lay off just a bit and drink some water.

The past week and a half I've started having the same feeling. I've noticed more than once at work i've stopped because my belly will get really tight and i'll feel really crampy. Enough to make me stop and notice and take some time. This past weekend we were at the Zoo walking around all day and I had to sit more than once, my belly got really hard. I feel it at night also. When I start feeling them I make sure I stop what i'm doing take a little time, lay down if I can and drink some water. I had no idea what they were at the beginning because I didn't think you could have braxton hicks this early but after talking to some ladies here and some other people I totally believe they are braxton hicks. I have a dr's appt today and i'm going to mention to my dr that i've been having them just so she's aware. I've tried to increase my water intake but I still get them.

I never had them with my other pregnancies but this time I have had them for about 2-3 weeks. Nothing lately though. My dr said drink plenty of water and try laying down(that always helps me .) And if you have more than 6 in an hour you may wanna call the dr.

It's only happened that one time that I can specifically say. But now that I know what it is, I'll be more conscious of them.

Thanks Ladies!

Sounds like BH to me, especially early ones, when I get them this early there is never pain or discomfort, my uterus just tightens up real good. And I've had them starting around 20 weeks or earlier with #2 and this one, so its totally normal.
