Chat thread

Thought we might need a chat thread to get things rollin around here!

it sure seems quiet!

How's everyone?! Whats new?!

I have my first doc appt tomorrow, u/s and a pap and all that, I'm really anxious yet sooo nervous. Feels like the "first day of school" trying to calm myself!!

Nausea has hit full force- today I felt like I could barely move, had top ramen for dinner- havent had that in years- was the only thing that sounded good and actually felt better for a few hours!!

Ack hate ramen the smell kills me when pg (don't eat them when not pg either tho). The entire rest of the fam loves them and thinks I am crazy. Dh says he could live on them alone.

I get to go for another scan tomorrow yay! I called bc of spotting and they are letting me come in at 9. Bc it's too early for the Doppler lol. If only they knew but I'm not talking. I want to know what's causing the spotting or more like I want to know what's NOT causing the spotting hopefully, worried about a previn or SCH. Hoping it's just my finicky cervix and a Doppler won't tell me that. Kinda nervous but excited too!

GL tomorrow Cait can't wait to hear all about it.

Oh and one other fun tidbit. Took Alec (5yo ds) to peds he has strep again!! The kid just had it feb 23rd! Hate cold/flu season hope it goes away soon!

I hope you both have great appointments. I don't have one until next week and it's just a nurse's appointment.

I'm having a tough time adjusting to the time change. I've taken naps the last two afternoons and then slept a full night's sleep on top of that. It's great since I slept like crap all last week.

I'm so sore today from my gym class yesterday. I'd usually take some ibuprofen, but that's not an option, obviously. Ugh.

I'm Mary Sunshine this morning, aren't I? Lol Oh, and I'm up 6 pounds. Yikes!

Just got over a miserable 2 week cough/cold ..... Yesterday was Ds's 3rd Birthday so we had a fun party over the weekend. Than yesterday I spoiled him and took him to Monkey Joe's and Chuck-e-cheese. I am hoping the terrible two's are gone and the terrific threes come really soon! I can't wait for my dd to be on spring break I am ready for some sleeping in and relaxing and not being on the go all the time. I have actually been feeling pretty good, still have some slight m/s but my appetite is slowly coming back and I don't feel like crap 24/7 just about 2-3 hours a day now!

What's up ladies?? I'm coming at you live from my new MacBook Pro. Funny how the little things make me so excited! I'm in the middle of getting everything set up on here (which is taking forever! How is it that a brand new computer already needs updates??).

Sarah, we've had that nasty cold/cough here. I'm so over all the sickness! This year has been awful!

I cannot wait until next Thursday. Another OB appointment and u/s. I can't wait to see how much this peanut has grown and it will help put my mind at ease. For me, symptoms are of no comfort because of my partial molar pregnancy (numbers were normal and I had all the symptoms). I'm just so ready for it to be here!

Amen to the sickness!! Seems like everyones sick over here as welll. Kevin has had like three colds in the last few months, and he never gets sick, he actually called into work one day, and thats the first time he's called in since I was preg with DS, haha!! My friends and all of their kids have had the bad flu, so I guess I've been lucky over here!!

At least the end of our pregnancys wont be during cold/flu time, but then the new baby will be born right before winter starts, eeek!! Brody was born in Sept and luckily never got sick all winter so fingers crossed that happens again!

Andrea- Im up between 4-9 pounds, it varies day to day haha, and I was already up like 10-15 before I got pregnant, so Im pretty bummed @ myself. The nausea has really kicked in so Im hoping that helps me from overeating.

Katherine- Is it this Thurs- tomorrow- thats your appt? How far along are you now? Did you already get an U/S? I wish I had an U/S machine at home, haha I saw them on ebay for 1k+.. guess I'll have to settle with trying to figure out my doppler.

AFM, my ticker says 8 weeks now, which now IDK what to think since the baby only measured 7.3 yesterday so I guess I'll just be in limbo, hoping I get a big growth spurt in two weeks!!

Hello all! We are also sick over here. I have had a nasty sinus infection with a cough for over 2 weeks now. I'm on my second round of antibiotics and finally starting to fell better. My DS has also been pretty sick the last few days, I feel so bad for him, he has had a nasty cough.

Sarah congrats on your son's birthday, I have enjoyed the 3 yo age. I had to look up monkey joes I have never heard of it, lol.
We are about to hit birthday season around here. Dh is April, DD2 is May, DS is June and DD1 is July. Dh and I also have our anniversary coming up on 4/10. So i'm trying to plan a date with him. Hardest part is getting people to watch all the kids, once we get that part down we normally have no idea what to do, lol.

I think I'm starting to get over the m/s some. I'm not feeling as queasy all the time, but a lot of foods still turn me off. So far I have not gained any weight. I really don't want to gain any. I'm already overweight, and I have lost 20lbs over the past 9 months. So I'm trying really hard.

Ugh we've been sick here too Alec (#4) has strep for the 2nd time in 2wks! I've had it and do have the girls in the past month as well. Then we've had this cold/sinus/allergy thing going around for a good month too.

We are thinking of going to a movie tomorrow to get outta the house. Not sure what's here though. Anyone else doing anything this weekend?

We don't have any plans for the weekend yet. I will probably be trying to catch up on some work, since I missed a week with Isaiah being in the hospital. I have an u/s scheduled for tomorrow, and it can't come soon enough. I'm so tired of worrying.

We are probably gonna go to the st Patrick's day parade here. Mother Nature is playing tricks on us and giving us 70-80 degree weather for the next week or so. I plan to be outside as much as possible. Sunday is always church day than we may buy the kids their new swingset.I wanna take my dd to see Lorax one of these days too!
Forgot to add sorry you have another sick one, its been a rough couple of weeks for sickness:(

Sarah we are having the same weather here. It's so crazy but I love it! I live in Iowa but we are right on the Mississippi and Illinois is right across the bridge from us so I'm sure we have the same warm front running through. There aren't any St Paddys Day parades near here or I'd go to one too sounds fun!

Not really any plans this weekend for me. Honestly which is nice, because I am just so freaking tired! Thinking I will go to the bookstore and pick up a new book. I just read the 1st book in the Inn at Boonsboro trilogy by Nora Roberts and also Fire Chasers by her also. Addicted to her books, I swear lol!!

OH wow you really aren't too far from me (maybe 2 hrs if that) We are planning a trip to Fun City hopefully soon, we have never taken the kids. We spend alot of time in Oquwaka Il which is just about 20 minutes or so away in Illinois.

Yeah I've been to Oquawka or thru it more correctly. I abhor Fun City it's not fun to me lol all that noise and we lose a kid for at least a few moments every time we're there. Honestly it's a nice facility with lots of stuff to do the kids love it there and we go eat there a lot. What are your kids ages?

Mini vent coming up:

So they opened a Dunkin Donuts very close to my girls' school. I ran over there today to get a donut (Boston Kreme) to bring home and enjoy. I get home and the darn donut was upside down, causing the chocolate to stick the bag Sad

Oh that sucks Katherine! My dh would totally call and try to get compensated. I am not one for confrontation if I can avoid it though. Dh feels that this world is going to he11 in a handbasket starting with deplorable customer service lol. When he was in college (and we had our oldest) he was a manager at McDs and still 10 yrs later says he could run circles around the current employees and sometimes lectures them in drive thru (rolls eyes) soo embarrassing but he is usually right Smile .

Im resurrecting the chat thread......

to say that I really really really don't want to clean my car but given that its nice out I feel the need to. I swear I have on DD and it looks like I have 7 kids in there its so messy. I found a sippy cup that I didn't even know she had one in the car. And her cup spilled one day so know my leather seats are all sticky.

speaking of cars I drive a 2007 Ford Taurus and it works well with having her car seat in there and the trunk is pretty big so it holds the car seat plus some but now with this baby coming I am thinking that i'd much rather have an SUV again ( I was in a car accident last year and had to get rid of my explorer) now i'm thinking i'd much rather have something else. Its not really necessary though and I like not having a car payment. The car will fit both car seats just fine.

Anyone else going to have to upgrade or make adjustments to their cars to fit baby?

I use to drive a Taurus x which was a 3rd row cross over it was a pretty good car. Last summer we upgraded to a minivan A) I swore I would never drive one. b) I freaking love that thing ........ It a Chrysler Town and Country fully loaded with 2 dvd players in it, the doors and trunk are automatic which is sooooo nice. So the Babies will go in the middle and the big kids will ride in the back.... Now I just gotta get DD to help figure out how to buckle little brother and life would be great (not that I would ever reallty trust her to do it).

Our Taurus wagon will be obsolete once the baby comes. But we have an 8-seat Toyota Sienna, so that will be the only car we can take the whole family in. When we are ready to upgrade, we will get a 10 or 12 passenger van. (I hate the huge 15-passenger ones.) We're in no hurry, though, since we have one of our cars paid off.

I just bought an SUV a few months ago.
However, Kevin has a truck and a car, and the car is small and barely fit Brodys carseat- so im thinking hes gonna have to make a change, because his truck is a big lifted truck with just the front seats... soo... he really wants a huge extended cab truck, so hopefully he'll sell his car AND truck to get it...
But if thats the case, I might trade my suv that I Looove in, for a better gas mileage car, so we dont just have gas hogs to drive

I'm going to need to get a minivan. We do have a 3rd row in our SUV, but it would be very difficult to get into a carseat in the back and there wouldn't be room for a stroller or basically much of anything. We live out in the country with hills and snow in the winter so I would like a minivan with AWD or something. That'll have to wait until at least this summer. I love my current vehicle for two kids - Chrysler Pacifica. It has lots of cargo space and it's easy to get the kids in and out of. It drives like a car.

My workout kicked my butt this morning. I had to stop a couple of times. At least everyone in my class knows I'm pregnant now and not just a wuss.

We have a sienna too. With our big honking stroller, we specifically bought that minivan for the trunk space!

Yes! It has so much more trunk space than our old Ford minivan had.
