Diapers!!

Whose stocking up?

What brand, how many, what sizes?!

Im trying to get ahead and buy useful things- so i've been trying to stock up on diapers..

Yet I feel a little overwhelmed, I dont want to buy too many of too small of sizes...

Diapers.com has a really good deal, 10 dollars off a case and 50+ is free shipping..

So an Xl case of 244(ish) diapers size 1 is 37.00 (or something).. really good deal!!

Im wondering if I should take back the pampers sensetive I bought. 25 dollars for only 88 diapers.. hmm!!

We are cloth diapering this one so we are stocking up in a way, but not in the same way as you lol. Blum 3 We have 2 bags of Pampers Sensitive NB size left over from DS2, so we will be using those up before starting up with the cloth.

I'm not stocking up too much only because with DS it was a trial run until we found some that he didn't leak out of. Pampers worked but he leaked out of Huggies every. single. time. My friend's LO was opposite. She could only use Huggies, others her LO leaked out of. It seems so weird to me but I've heard it a lot where you have to find what diapers work for your LO but then again some people can use any diap and they do fine. I would just hate a to have a stock pile of diaps that the LO leaks out of. KWIM? It's a great idea to watch sales and stock up but I'm just too nervous to. LOL!

I agree with Reagan, I wouldn't stock up too much on one particular type just yet. It is just sooooo hit or miss depending on the individual baby that it would suck to buy tons of one thing and then end up hating them.

We love Pampers, but Huggies always leaked on us. The Walmart ones were ok but not great, the Fisher Price ones worked really great at holding everything in, but they gave DS1 HORRIBLE burn-like rashes, same with Pampers once they switched the Cruisers over the the Dry-Max or whatever it was that a lot of people reported issues with. The Kirkland ones at Costco were good, but we didn't use those until DS1 was 2 already so I don't know how well they'd hold up against newborn blowouts lol. And then there was DS2, he has eczema and super sensitive skin and nothing we put on him could keep his little delicate bum clear and rash free, so at 6 months we switched to cloth and never looked back. We keep a bag of Pampers in the closet as back-ups for him, but once he gets to the next size up we'll probably switch to Costco ones because they're a little cheaper.

I may sign up for Diapers.com this time around being twins. I haven't bought any diapers yet but I think I have a coupon for BRU for some. We generally prefer Pampers here.

I rememeber with DD she could only wear certain kind so I wouldn't get too many to far ahead! My Ds used any kind . I work for Kroger and can get their brand super cheap, and towards the end of diapers for him that was the only brand that diden't leak at night!!! I do like the newborn ones with the lines that change colors when they go potty. I have 4 packages of pampers newborns so far, but with twins those won't be lasting too long!!!

Sarah, are you getting any of the Preemie ones too? I'll get some newborn sizes but saw that they sell Preemie sizes and not sure if I should get some of those as well. With twins, we just don't have any idea what's going to happen... ie. no idea when we'll deliver that is or their sizes at birth.

I would really like to try cloth this time, but I'm not too optimistic. DH is NOT a fan and I feel I will just give up too easily. I'm hesitant to make the initial investment.

I'm buying one box of newborn sized Pampers (not dry max kind). By the time we're done with that box, this LO should be big enough to wear cloth and the cord stump should be off. I did cloth from day one with Charlotte and she was affectionately called smelly belly for a week there. Yuck!

I have a lot of diapers for girls, even in newborn sizes. I'll probably buy a few fresh girl diapers if this LO is a girl. If this LO is a boy, then I'll be buying lots and lots of boy colors and prints and sending my girl diapers on once Charlotte is done with them. I do have lots of gender neutral that can be used either way. Some of my favorite brands are Blueberries, bumGenius (snaps), Fuzzi Bunz, Rumparooz, and Baby Kangas. Oh, and I need a couple of new wetbags since mine are pretty worn out and I'll probably sew up some fresh cloth wipes. Biggrin

We aren't really stalking up either. Only because we started with Huggies with DD and she got a rash couldn't wear them so we switched her to Luvs. Also we needed a diaper that didn't leak and Luvs was it for us (DD pee's A LOT she also drinks A LOT). My sister went through 3 different brands I think. I think I will get a package or two of Luv's newborn and go from there. That way if Luvs don't work on this baby its not a huge loss.

Yes I imagine I will probably need some preemie ones too. I think thats another reason I am not going crazy on clothes yet, esp since if born early i may need some preemie clothes. My Mom and I decided like a week before (if we know) or as things get closer we are just gonna hit up Target or some place and buy a bunch of clothes at once.

I've seen a lot of preemie clothes at Carter outlet stores so keep that in mind if the need arises.

All 3 of my kids came home in preemie diapers (my biggest was 6lbs at birth, came home at 5lbs), so I am just assuming that this baby will too. With my boys Pampers swaddlers worked the best. With DD it was huggies Snugglers.

I have found that Target usually has 1 or 2 preemie outfits, Walmart tends to carry more. Another GREAT place to find cute preemie stuff is Burlington's Smile
