What are you doing for exercise now that you're pregnant? Are any of you that have morning sickness able to work out?
I'm wondering because I'm really into exercise. I was working out 4-6 days a week prior to pregnancy and I plan to continue as long as I'm able. I'm only 5 weeks though and m/s usually kicks in for me at 6 weeks. I'm dreading that, not only because of the obvious, but also because I might not be up to exercising.
My current workout schedule is Mondays: Total Body Conditioning class (1 hr), Tuesdays: Cardio (elliptical, bike, or treadmill for 45 minutes), Wednesday: Kickboxing class (1 hr), Thursdays: Short cardio and weights, Fridays: rest:, Saturdays: Aerobics class (1 hr), Sundays: Rest or stretch.
This is the first pregnancy that I've gone into being very fit so it's also the first pregnancy that I'm going to attempt to work out more than the occasional prenatal yoga session. I talked with my kickboxing teacher about my "hypothetical" condition and she encouraged me to keep doing what I'm doing and just listen to my body. She said that I'd better not stop because if I stop, then I probably won't be up for restarting until after pregnancy. I'll have to make adjustments when I'm bigger also. She taught kickboxing into her 8th month of pregnancy so it's doable.
Anyway, anyone else into exercise?
I don't exercise, at all...ever lol. BUT I am planning to start here in the next few weeks once I am feeling a little more energetic and normal again. I bought a prenatal fitness DVD set, and I am actually looking forward to being at least somewhat active this pregnancy.
I suck. I'm thinking of putting my gym membership on hold. I used to run over to the gym tues/thurs while Brodys in preschool- my only "alone" time.... but now I'm just SOO tired out that I kind of want to just come home and clean and... Uhh.. do what I'm doing now, obsessing and being lazy.. haha... I can't quite decide yet... Soon as spring/summer hits it'll be easy to walk the lake with the family and walk up and down the hills by my house so I wont really "need" a gym... I really plan to stay in better shape this time around though...
maybe when the 2nd trimester hits or some energy comes back I'll feel like going to the gym and actually "working out"... But right now...bleh!!
too sick at this point to workout. Maybe once this passes I can start walking and swimming. With the kids and my job I tend to find it hard to make time to workout. So far this pregnancy I am only losing weight .I really wanna try to eat better and not put on a bunch of weight( ha ha ) easier said than done. Although right now anything chocolate makes me sick crazy cause I am normally a choc-aholic !!!
I actually just got a treadmill in January! I have been running almost every day for the last three weeks and I hope to continue. We'll how the sickness treats me!

Ive never been good at consistently exercising. A few months ago I started doing zumba 2-3 times a week and had just started weight watchers. I can't do weight watchers (they don't allow pregnant women) and my Dr suggested maybe not doing Zumba anymore. So now i'm down to trying to force myself to the treadmill (which I haven't done yet). It kind of sucks cause I loved Zumba.
I have been trying to lose weight and get fit since before getting pg w/ my last little one who is 10 mos old now. I hate exercising so it isn't something that comes easy to me lol but I try, I was really trying to get my diet in order and was doing pretty good. Still am since I can't eat anything much right now. I am too nauseous to get on the treadmill or do anything like that now either.
I haven't really been too activity driven since I was pregnant with Erin. In 2009! I was one of those ladies that said I would exercise throughout my pregnancy and eat well. I did, until about 6-7 weeks and exhaustion got the best of me. I eventually gained 50 Pounds! After Erin, was born I eventually got into the Couch to 5k program, but never finished Work, commuting, and motherhood got the best of me.
Last week I started walking a little after lunch since we have a gym at my job. 1/2 mile 1st day and 3/4 mile the next. I don't want to push too hard and I figure a little walk after lunch won't be too intimidating once the real exhaustion sets in again. I also try to walk with Erin, but it's been cold, we've all been sick and really, it's more of a lazy stroll with her since we have to stop and investigate every rock in the road
I'm hoping once the spring comes to walk outside with my co worker after lunch. She's pregnant too and Had to walk during her last pregnancy. I think bc of GD? Either way, will be more exciting then staring at the wall while on the treadmill
