Gender

I cannot get gender off my mind. I so badly want a baby boy, DH of course wants one to. My co-workers think i'm having a boy and my dad is praying for a boy. On my side of the family the last boy born was my uncle and he is almost 40 now. Otherwise everyone's had girls, my aunt even adopted a baby girl. I'm not so sure my family would remember how to take care of a little boy haha. DH and I always said we would have 2 kids. When I told him I was pregnant he said "now if its a girl we will have to decide if we are done." I was like ummm I thought that was already decided lol

Anyway, I saw on a thread someone had ordered a gender test off amazon, I didn't even know they made those! Has anyone tried them? What do you think about them?

A long long time ago like 5 years ago when I was married to my ex-dh I had a baby predictions psychic thing done and all I remember is that it said I would have more than one kid and one was a boy. Anyone had one of these done?

Of course I would be thrilled with a girl don't get me wrong. What gender do you want? I seriously don't think I can wait to find out what this baby is! I'm so stinking excited!

I'm feeling way more relaxed this time about the gender, but I think that is because I have 2 girls and 1 boy already. So all teams have been covered, lol.
However I am hoping for another boy so that my son can have a brother. I really like the idea of a balanced family.
I have been craving similar foods to what I did when I was pregnant with him, and have been pretty queasy.

I'm so with you on this! My husband wants to have a daughter so badly. He has always wanted a little daddy's girl. All of our friends have daughters and he's "uncle" to them, which just kills him even more.

So I would LOVE this to be a girl so that our family can be done (have a DS already).
If it's a boy I told him we get ONE more try after this, and that's it! We've even talked about doing the lab selection version where they can "choose" the female sperm and do IVF that way, but messing with natural selection just doesn't sound right to me.

Odd part is, when I was pregnant with my son, from very early on in the pregnancy I just knew it was a boy. Lots of boy dreams, intuition, etc. I have no idea this time around! No feeling whatsoever. I haven't tried any gender tests or anything before, but like you, would love to hear if anyone has.

The wait is just killing me! Also, as awful as it sounds, I don't want DH to feel any disappointment in the actual u/s room when they do the gender u/s if the doc says it's a boy. Not that I think he would feel that way (he says he'd love another boy too), but . . . I just don't want that to be a time of disappointment when it should be 110% happy! I'm probably over thinking it, eh? Smile

I'm torn.
I've always dreamed of a girl. But, I really want two boys, then a girl last.
Well, Kevins decided that TWO is the MAX and hes getting the snip snip before this one's cords even cut... so I'm really annoyed..
I told him we need to talk about that later- I just want to focus on having THIS baby right now...
And he says "I hope its a girl for your sake, so you can have your girl"
That makes me so sad.. I really want a boy, I have a boy name, boy stuff, I just want a little miniture of my DS..
Yet, I cant let my dream of a girl die... I want a girl sooo bad..
So basically now Im sad either way... and happy either way I guess...
I guess I just need B/G twins to be happy. haha
I feel like if I have a girl I'll work longer- because it'll be more $$$$$.. haha... so a fair trade I guess.. if its a boyI'll prob take summer off school and cut back on work.. haha.. maybe if its a boy kev will agree to one more try, or I can sneak one more try in..

Psychic prediction said I'd get preg this month, and that it's a boy, so i REALLY think its a boy!

I know the gender test your talking about- I read a million reviews on it though and the real reviews dont seem reliable

Is it bad that I already peed on baking soda yesterday to do the fizzle gender test?!?!?!?

I really wanted a boy with my last two pregnancies, but I really don't care this pregnancy. Well, I care, as in I want to know ASAP, but it doesn't matter. Both have their positives. I have two sweet girls and a third would be fun. It would be fun to have a boy to have a different experience.

Doesnt matter a ton to us as we have 3 girls and 3 boys. Now if I could pick I would prolly pick girl bc our youngest dd is 10 mos so we have a ton of girls clothes. Plus it would be nice for her to have a sister her age our other dds are the two oldest. Im okay either way though. I cant wait to find out either its killing me!!

I understand tho wanting one or the other sex very badly. After my first two girls I was desperate to have a boy lol we didnt even get pg on purpose with him but I just really wanted to parent at least one of each sex. My office is very old school and they dont do 20 wk scans as a rule they do them as needed only (now thankfully there are u/s clinics you can go to and pay!) and I had one at 14 wks and they wouldnt even look then. Soo when I was finally having him we were all on pins and needles for that important part to come out lol and when dh said boy I almost didnt believe him I had to look myslef!

Yeah, I've checked out Intelligender reviews, and there are a lot of bad ones, so I wouldn't waste the money if I were you. According to the chinese gender chart, some sort of biorhythm chart, an internet psychic and the baking soda test, they all say girl...but the gender chart and biorhythm said girl for DS1 as well, so clearly their accuracy leaves something to be desired lol.

I'm desperate for a girl. Obviously we want a healthy baby, blah blah blah Blum 3 but I just have this insane irrational need for a daughter. When we found out DS1 was a boy, I was seriously bummed, when we found out DS2 was another boy, I was downright depressed. This is our last baby, DH plans on getting snipped after this one, so if this is another boy then I am never going to have a daughter and it will crush me. Since having DS2 I've been trying to prepare myself for it, but theres a good chance that after my gender scan I could go MIA for a week if its a boy. I know that if I end up with 3 boys I'll love them all to pieces, I adore the 2 I already have, but I am hoping against hope that I get my little girl for our last baby.

I would really like a Boy. Psychic lady says boy.
I only wanted boys but after having my DD, I don't think I'll be all that upset if it's a girl this time too. She is so awesome Smile

The baking soda test is drop a few drops of your urine onto a small cup of baking soda, if it fizzles (like it would with vinegar) then you're having a boy, if it has no reaction at all then its a girl. Theory is that your urine is more acidic if your pg with a boy.

I will be trying this tonight! Does it have to be fmu? Has any done the ring on thread?

I used fmu with mine because I didn't want something I ate to affect it, I'm sure if you spend all day drinking coke and eating oranges, your pee might fizzle regardless of what your having lol.

I won't lie, I would LOVE a little girl! And my boys want a sister really bad. I adore my boys but I would love to have another girl in the house and have someone who identifies with me. I'm dying to buy baby dolls and hairbows Smile And I would love for DH to have a daddy's girl Smile However, after my losses, I'm just praying for a healthy baby. I know everyone assumes we have so many because we are trying for a girl but honestly we just want a big family. We had planned on having 5 before we even knew what #4 was. Since this will be our last, I don't want to find out the sex. I love surprises and it's so exciting to wait until delivery Smile

Havent tried cabbage yet... hehe...

So nervous because I dont want this to be our last!! eeek!!

Cait, I would think any reaction would be a boy result. Mine did nothing, absolutely nothing, no bubble, no fizz, no reaction of any kind.

I heard it makes a difference if you pee and THEN baking soda or if you baking soda and THEN pee.. cuz the baking soda has to let air bubbles out if you pee on top of it?? - So i read- and that it's supposed to fizzle to mean a real reaction.

Soo... Im sure I'll be trying many ways.

my friends fizzled SOOOO much- she has twin boys!! haha

I have two boys so I'm hoping for a girl this time. I've always really wanted a girl. I was pretty disappointed when I found out my second was a boy, but now that he is here I wouldn't trade him for anything of course. I'm totally preparing myself for a third boy, but so far I really don't think I'll be that disappointed if it's a boy. I don't know how I'm gonna feel?

We are definitely hoping for a boy! My poor son is so outnumbered. I honestly don't know what I will do with another girl! And we are all going to have to try this baking soda thing and see how accurate it is Smile
