Default had my ultrasound *Updated at top*

I'm not sure how I feel right now. The tech who did the ultrasound could not find anything So they sent me over to the lab to have blood work drawn to check my HCG. I waited around till I got the results, and I got a 138. Now that confirms that I'm pregnant, but if I got a + test 5 days ago shouldn't my numbers be higher?Right now I'm just feeling really confused, disappointed and worried. I'm going to call the Dr. tomorrow and ask for another blood test on Friday.I really wish I knew when I ovulated.

    Update

I went in this morning and got my HCG levels, and I was at a 322, so I more than doubled in 2 days. I'm feeling so much better now. I am still shocked that a preg test can pick up levels of HCG so early. Right now I'm assuming that my due date is Oct 5th, give or take a few days, but I'm going to run with that till I get an ultra sound to confirm dates. Hopefully in about 2-3 weeks.

I did a ton of research with my last pregnancy. I got a faint BFP at 10dpo and had blood drawn at 12dpo. My # was only 13. This did tell me that some home preg tests are SUPER sensitive. Numbers can vary greatly. If you got a pos when your levels were say only 15 or even 25, then according to the average doubling rate, you would still only be at 80-140 range and that's where you are. I know how hard it is but try not to stress. One number doesn't tell you much. How far along do you think you are?

I agree with Belinda, your numbers sounds about right to me. When was your LMP and about how long are your cycles? I wouldn't worry too much about the u/s. I'm sure there's a nice little sticky bean growing in there and it's just too early to see anything on an u/s. Are they giving you another u/s next week? I agree that you should ask for another beta on Friday. Sending lots of positive vibes your way!

(((hugs))) I hope it was just too early to see anything, and like the PPs said, one number really doesn't tell you much. I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

*hugs* I agree, I think it's just too early to see anything. I had a scan at 5w3d with DS1 (to rule out ectopic) and they couldn't see anything at all in the uterus, not even a sac yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hope you get some more bloodwork on Friday!

Thanks ladies for the words of engorgement.

My LMP is really hard to tack down. I started BCP in November in hopes that I would bleed less, but they just made me bleed all the time. So I spent most of the month of December bleeding, so I got sick of it and stopped the pills mid pack. (2nd pack)
Anyways, I finally stopped bleeding around dec 28th or 29th and I never saw any fertile signs, cervix stayed firm and I was dry, so DH and I didn't bother with protection (children are always welcome to us) But because I had not gotten another period I kept taking a pregnancy test every 4 days or so, and Friday it turned positive. I even took a few OPKs during this time and all of them were very negative.

So its all just very confusing right now and I hate not knowing what is going on with my body. I really hope the baby sticks.

I hope it's just too early too! I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks with DS2 and they couldn't see anything. The tech told me not to worry, and I had another u/s at 8 weeks and there was a flickering hb in there

Hoping it was just early. I think my first u/s at the RE's was 5w6d. Even at that point they warned me there might not be much to see. Will they re-check your beta tomorrow?
