Maternity Clothes!??!

This is my first child and I already can't button my pants. I have purchased a pair of maternity jeans and a belly band (to help my work slacks stay up) but I don't want to break the bank. I have already spent almost $100 on the jeans and the belly band. Where do you ladies suggest I shop for maternity clothes? I live in South Alabama so the summer is going to be HOT HOT HOT! But, I work in a law firm so I can't wear tank tops all the time. Help!

So far the only maternity clothes I have to wear are black pants to work. Everything else still fits me . However I have a ton of maternity clothes since this is my 3rd pregnancy!!!! I do like Motherhood maternity and Target, I tend to buy a few pairs of pants or shorts that can go with alot more. I also am a yoga pant t-shirt wearing Momma when I am not working(I only work 2 days a week)

I also like Motherhood, Target and Kohl's. I've also found some good stuff on craigslist. Good luck with your search!

Motherhood has cute stuff but they are waaay overpriced if you ask me. I find Kohls to have a very small selection. I have gotten a few things from Old Navy but only online. I don't think the store by me even has a maternity section? I would check it out though, they have a good return policy.

I sold or lent out all of my maternity clothes after my last baby thinking we were done. Luckily I was able to get a few things back, but there has been a lot that I found I didnt have. I have found good deals at garage sales. I strongly suggest looking at good will, savers, or any other 2nd hand type shops. Also, if you can wear skirts or dresses to work I would stock up on those seeing as they will be cooler than slacks. Also, I was able to find a cute sheer ish top at motherhood that I can put a tank top under... that way I'm covered, but not too warm. good luck. oh, also, if you have any friends or relatives that have had babies maybe see if you can borrow some of their stuff???

I second the resale idea. You can find some really nice things for very good prices. A lot of children's resale shops have at least a small maternity section.

Yes Good idea.... when I am between sizes after baby and such I always hit up our resale shops and or my local Goodwill I get Jeans sometimes even brand new for under $5.00.

I get a lot of things from Old Navy, especially when they have good sales. I do like Motherhood's jeans better, with the secret fit belly, they are comfortable. With summer coming & heat, skirts and dresses are best. I just got a nice dress from Old Navy a few weeks back, it's plain back, good enough for an office.

*lurker from December* I had no clothes saved and knew this was my last child and was dreading the cost of paying for new maternity clothes. I did score a couple tops on clearance at Sears and then I scored big time on craigslist. A huge box of clothese in the perfect size for $130. I might have to buy 1 pair of jeans or another pair of shorts, but I should be covered. Good luck! i just about fainted in Motherhood when I saw a pair of jeans on the clearance rack for $60+ dollars. No way!

I think Motherhood is expensive. I've gotten a few things online. Sweetpeamaternity.com has some really cute things and they've got great prices too! Dresses for $22! flybelly.com also has some nice things. You can get good deals on ebay as well.

:lurk:

Ross has maternity clothes that are pretty affordable. Also, you can find some great stuff at the Motherhood outlet in Foley (check the clearance rack!). I got my favorite maternity work outfit from there. Also the Gap outlet over there!
