[QUOTE=annierose;8939175]I'm liking your ideas! I love the name Charlotte, of course. We've yet to meet another one so maybe it's more popular in some areas?QUOTE]
I had it on my list for my second daughter and then like two other women I know used it. It is super cute and has lots of adorable potential nicknames. In 2000 it was number 289 on the most popular baby name list from the Social Security website, and in 2011 it was number 27!
Baby boy will be Boyd Matthew. Its the first time ever DH and I easily agreed on a boys name, let alone so early in my pregnancy. Its locked in for sure at this point, we have no other ideas, nothing else we like and since we picked it out we haven't talked any further about names, this is it.
We are naming her Alexis Mae L.
Alexis is a name DH LOVED LOVED and originally we were going to name DD it but there was some "drama" with his ex-wife (she got pregnant a month before me and she had always told him she HATED the name when they were married, they never had kids together, anyway long story short we told a mutual friend we were naming her Alexis and she delivered and named her baby Alexis. We just couldn't name her that anymore)
Ok so fast forward. When we found out it was a girl I asked DH what he thought for names. We decided we didn't want to do 2 "H" names. I asked if he had a name in mind and he said yes that he still loves Alexis and he doesn't care about his ex-wife or any of that. I said ok because I love Lexi also. Mae is his mom's middle name.
We had a name picked out before we even saw the Dr after the ultrasound Lol.
That's a funny story, Chaise. Good for you guys.
I know I've told you before, but I love the name Boyd. It's strong and masculine and different.
So I mentioned this thread to my DH yesterday and he confessed that he knew that Charlotte had gotten popular and had been hiding it from me. It wasn't that popular when we came up with her name in 2009, but has increased in popularity since then. There isn't anything we can do about that. I just don't really go for the supremely popular names so it gives me a twinge of dangit. At least I'm going into it knowing both of our names for the third are somewhat popular. Mina will be our only child with a more unique name I guess.
When we picked Gracie name in 2003 it was still an old fashioned name...... we diden't know any other Gracie's well now there is Gracie's/Grace's everywhere!!!! And my ds is Conner we spelled in Conner instead of Connor-due to Conner was my Grandma's maiden name we have run into a few conner's but not many seems like most of them are 10 and + . Seems like whatever name you pick you run into hearing it more once your child is born. I really am leaning towards Callie and maybe Madeline"Maddy" I know Madeline seems to be pretty popular. But I hate the thought of all my kids having C-names except my dd.(Since Charlotte was our other option). Why do names have to be so difficult to decide.... My brothers twins are going to be Jacob and Benjamin !!!
