One Vent and One Happy

Let's play a game... we can share one vent as long as we share one happy at the same time. You can play multiple times a day. It will be a fun way to get to know each other.

My current vent: the batteries in the smoke detector need replacing and won't stop beeping. I am sick, and in PJs. I do not want to go buy any.

My happy: my kiddos are coming home on Sunday morning from a visit with their grandparents for the last 2 weeks!

Kim, what a great idea Smile

My vent: MY TODDLER IS GIVING UP NAPS!!! Ok. Had to scream it too. He wouldn't nap today and really, really needed one. By 5pm he's cranky and just plain evil. It was one rough afternoon for this mama. So frustrating!

My good thing: DH found out he is able to keep working ovt at work. Just found out today. For us, that means extra cash flow into the savings, just in time for baby 3. I was getting worried when his shop was trying to limit it. (He likes to works 8-10hrs over at least) Medical bills add up fast!

I love this game!

Vent: For some reason my MIL has been driving me INSANE lately with her rudeness and selfishness and her constantly bugging DH and making his life difficult. GAH! And I have a UTI and it's one of the worst I've had in a long time.

Happy: I'm feeling much better about TTC now as I'm learning to view it as a process rather than expecting it to be immediate. Also DH and I get a weekend off TOGETHER without traveling. Yay!

My MIL used to drive me nuts too! It took some time but she had to learn her place. Be sure to assert yourself and let her know that her rudeness is not tolerated (make sure DH is doing it too) and eventually she will realize she needs to be kind and not step over the boundries in order to be a part of your life. My inlaws were coming to stay with us every other month for a week at a time when we first moved here and I finally had to put my foot down and say it's enough. It disrupted the whole family and it was so hard on me. DH liked it when they were here (of course) but i told him too bad cuz he's at work all day and i'm the one trying to deal with everything. MIL even started trying to dicipline the kids! I told them they are here too much when it gets to that point LOL. but anyway... I'm rambeling ... I just wanted to let you know it's not just you and you will work it out. Just make sure you set your boundries and keep to them. I had to learn that this year and weeve been married for 11 yrs!

Vent: DH had no "desire" last night. I am not anywhere near 'o' so it's not bothering me on that point, but just in general. I want sex. Lol.

Happy: the Parent Trap is on tv. The old one. Love it!

Vent: I've gained like 20 lbs since TTC and feel horrible about myself, I wish I could just turn it around and stick to my diet and exercise so that at least I can have SOMETHING to be happy for (since obviously I'm not getting pregnant!) I think I keep using TTC as an excuse to "not care" but then I really do care.. sigh..
Happy: My family life is better then ever, I truely am starting to feel like I'm so lucky and have such a great life, Kevin works so hard for us and I have a perfect (HAHA right?) little son. Bills are paid, food on the table, everyones happy, things could definately be a lot worse!!!

Cait... weight is such a hard thing. I think most women are unhappy with what they weigh in general. I was always small (maybe 115 soaking wet) until after my third son and now I range between 125 and 135. Weight wise, it sounds fine but I am short and have huge bb's and I feel chunky. I just wanted to let you know that you aren't struggling alone.

I used weight watchers last year to get from 145 down to 125. Now, I am not on the program but I try following it to a certain degree. I think you mentioned somewhere else that you are a SAHM. Am I remembering right? I know I eat terrible when I am home, but do great at work. Arrgghh. Did you think about joining the biggest loser challenge? Some of us from this board are on the same team!

Kim, I seriously have the same battle; eating horrible at home but I did soooo well when I worked and got out of the house more. I think that is my biggest issue with my weight. It's so easy to get bored and rummage around the fridge...

Cait, join us!! The more the merrier.

VENT: Came home from shopping tonight and my 2yo has 102.5 temp!!! Uh oh. Hoping tomorrow doesn't suck. Beee At least he seemed alright while we were out. Poor boy.
HAPPY: I found killer heels while shopping for $6.50!! 90% off!! They are HOT.

Oh my ....

Vent: tonight I trimmed and painted my toenails. Then I jumped straight into bed on my pretty sheets. Never thought about my toes until just now. My sheets have pink sparkly on them. Grrrr DH wasn't pleased.

Happy: my kiddos will be home in the morning!!!! Cuddle time. I have missed them.

Yes! It's all about putting the foot down I guess. She's not the worst or anything she just drives me nuts sometimes cause she's so clueless. She doesn't seem to have any idea that she's such a pain sometimes. Poor woman. Oh well. I'm over it now thankfully but I appreciate this! Makes me feel better to know I'm not alone. Smile

Vent for today: Does anyone else experience seriously bad and super weird dreams while TTC? I've always had weird dreams anyway but it's like TTC our first makes me nostalgic or something and I have the weirdest dreams. Last night I dreamed that DH left me and I couldn't figure out how we went from trying to have a baby to him leaving and I kept telling myself it was a dream and I'd wake up and when I didn't I accepted it was real...then I woke up and I could barely breathe. I HATE those dreams!

Happy: My appointment with the RE is Monday and I left a pad of paper on the bed to write questions on it when I got out of the shower. Well, I guess DH woke up while I was in the shower cause when I got out the pad of paper had "I love you" written on it. My DH is so sweet! Smile

Ohhhh I love this thread! I've been busy all weekend but am back on now so I'm gonna jump right in!

VENT: My mother offered to have a family b'day party for my nephew who turned 3 today, and she offered to have it at MY PLACE (my folks live over our garage and don't have a ton of room in their appartment), not only that but this morning I went up to find out exactly what the plan was for today, she was panicking and cleaning HER place even though everyone was coming to MY place! Then when everyone left I had to clean my house AGAIN!! Grrrrr

Happy: DH was home this weekend Smile Life is so much better when he's around, and he was just as sookie/mushy/lovey as me! We took DD to see a movie (We bought a Zoo - super sweet) and in general had a great weekend, including lots of 'Naps' (our code for mid day BDing since DD is old enough to read or play her DS in her room we tell her we're having a nap and lock our door!)

HAPPY: My boss has talked our big bosses into giving us 2 weeks vacation (I'm getting laid off at the end of the month) another 2 weeks pay is MUCHLY (is that a word? lol) needed and welcomed. I love my boss Smile oh and they were balking at him trying to get out of it, and all he said was, well if you don't like it then YOU go talk to your workers and tell them they aren't getting the 2 weeks vacation they deserve. He said they shut up and agreed to it ha ha.

Cait!!! Congrats!!! Woo hoo! Two little ones with birthdays in Sept? How funny. Wink It must be a lucky month for you. If I get preggo this month I'll have two in Oct. Go figure!
There are a few preggo mamas doing the challenge. I'm hoping, myself, to keep going while preggo to try and not gain 40+ lbs like I always have before. You don't have to loose any weight, just track your points. I think you could join are group easy if you want too. Smile

Make a reply with your point tracking page ( you'll see when you read through the first post) I'll see if they can pull your thread to the top with all the others once you get it up. Just don't worry about week 1 and go right to 2. We start on Monday so if you can recall yesterday, go ahead and fill in for that. Jump right in! We love to chat and give each other encouragement.
