    Question tuna?

All I can think about is how I want a can of tuna. I think I remember my doctor saying last time that 1 can a week is okay. But I wasn't sure if it is okay in the first trimester? Or if it is even worth it because of the mercury? what do you ladies think?

It's okay in moderation. Here's the info I found with a quick search: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pre...ishmercury.htm I tend to only have it like once a month during pregnancy, but I don't eat it a whole lot anyway. Give in to the craving.

I think you're supposed to stay away from albacore tuna totally bc it has more mercury. However the regular tuna is okay in moderation, once a week I was told. It's Lent so I am eating more fish right now then I normally would but I mostly eat cod and tilapia or shrimp and crab and I think those are fine.

I made some awesome farm raised catfish yesterday. It was the first time I fried fish in years. It was so good, it reminded me how people around here just don't know how to fry fish.

I don't eat a lot of tuna, but now you are making me crave some!

I always like a good tuna fish sandwhich, so I have indulged a few times. Go ahead!

My OB agreed with the once a week thing - for tuna, she said it should be a smaller portion - I think 3 ounces? (which i believe is what comes in those starkist bags...)
