    Default Baby Shopping List...

Alright ladies... what is on your shopping list to buy before baby arrives? I hope to pick up most of these items within the next two weeks. What am I missing?
    • new rectal thermometer
    • infant tylenol
    • baby hangers
    • laundry basket (each member in our family have their own laundry basket)
    • baby bodywash/shampoo
    • 1 pkg of pure and natural disposable nb diapers (for the first few days so we don't get meconium stains on the nb cloth diapers)
    • 1 pkg of baby wipes
    • big brother/big sister gifts (the baby normally has something small for the siblings when they come to visit the baby for the first time at the hospital)
    • new baby gift(s) from the bigs (we let the bigs pick out something small to bring to the baby too)
    • baby book (so we can put their footprints in it at the hospital)

That's a good list! I guess it's time to sit down and think about this stuff, huh?

This is good for me since I haven't really made a list yet...let's see:
    -baby book
-set up diaper order (honest company...thought about going cloth but decided not to)
    -coming home outfit!
-changing pad & cover for downstairs diaper changing station
    -baby wash
-Motherlove nipple cream (this stuff is AMAZING. can't say enough good things about it!)
Gosh I guess that's it! Not too bad.
And stuff I still need to collect from friends:
    -baby bath
    -bassinet
    -baby swing
My friends are throwing me a baby shower on Sept. 21st, I have no clue what I'll be getting since we have everything we need...I'm assuming the majority will be clothes! Hopefully there will be some natural baby wash and a perfect coming home outfit so I won't need to buy that either! I'm pretty darn cheap.

Yeah, that's the other thing--a friend is throwing me a shower on the 7th and I still need to get a ton of stuff from my friend who has promised me lots but not actually handed it over yet so I don't know what's included...better remind her soon

Hmm... we have some NB diapers I already got and most of the other things on those lists. I do need to get big sibling gifts together. And I have to figure out the breast pump thing with insurance. Mostly I have to get things out and set them up.

ETA: I didn't see nursing pads or milk storage bags on either of the lists. I've already stock-piled 4 boxes of nursing pads.

AWE! Nursing pads! Yes... must get some. I have some cloth ones, but they don't really work. I think I still have milk storage bags from last time around... and I need to remind DH to check on the breast pump for me! I have one, but it is 6+ years old right now. If I can get a new one for free, that would be awesome!

Jealous of those of you who are still having a baby shower! I'd love a chance to party, celebrate this new life being added to our family.

My sewing machine decided to die mid project, a nappy change mat/holder thingy, so I may have to buy one now. Also need an change mat cover for the one in the bedroom.
Cot sheets, but I'm waiting until we know the gender and I'd like to have a colour rather than a beigey one.
Clothes, once again, waiting on gender.
I think I've got enough stuff to get me started. I think.

I just thought of something last night...POOL NOODLES. I need them to raise up the crib mattress to be level with our bed, but they're not going to be in stores anymore in mid-October. In fact the selection is already running thin. At least if I can track them down at this point they should be on super sale...

Last night I finally dragged down the bags of saved stuff and went through it. I only had about six or seven NB outfits but plus the couple of things I've bought, a few things friends have already handed down, and the stuff I'm still expecting from BFF, I'm actually feeling OK on that front. Sorted out the next few size stages too, so they'll be ready to go when the time comes. Found a couple of awesome AIOs I forgot I'd saved, too, so that was exciting

I went to "amazon" after I posted this and took care of most of the list the other day and then today picked up a few more items while we were out at Target. I'm itching to wash the newborn outfits this weekend! I have this thing about needing to be pretty much ready by the time I hit 36 weeks. Last time around, everything was ready to go except the hospital bag at that point, and even that was partially packed.
