Chat/check-in: Week of 8/12
Hi everyone! Have a nice weekend? How's everybody doing?
I'm still feeling pretty good although I should have gone to the chiro on Friday...decided to push it since I was feeling fine and sure enough regretted it all weekend (I think helping my grandma off and on to the toilet on Friday night did not help the situation)...nothing terrible, just plaguing dull low back pain if I stand/walk for too long. Calling for an appointment this morning...it's magic :)
I also checked the Dr. Sears children's books Baby on the Way and What Baby Needs out of the library for DD and it was a HUGE win...she is completely intrigued and in love with them. I highly recommend them if you want to do any prep with your littles who haven't been through this before...I like that they are very informative while still being completely age appropriate, and include so much on the kid his/herself and his/her role with the new baby, not info about just the baby. Also that the reality they show is pretty much exactly how we do babies (breastfeeding, birth center, etc., although it's totally tweakable for individual parenting differences) She made me read both of them multiple times, climbed out of bed to "read" them herself during naptime, and then wanted to look through all her old baby pictures. It was super cute. She does very well with transitions as long as she's been given lots of advance notice and information and time to think about it, so I think this was a great move. I might have to track them down at one of our used bookstores and buy them so we don't hog the library copies for the next 3 months :)
