So our church does an annual men's retreat as well as a women's retreat. My hubby and I both go every year, and it's wonderful and amazing, and we both look forward to that time. Well..this year the men's retreat is Oct. 11-13. It's 2.5 hours away. I'll be 38 weeks preggo. He asked me how I felt about him going so close to the due date and to be honest I don't really know how I feel! I really want him to go because it'll be his last break for a while, and I'll DEFINITELY be attending the women's one in March (with baby but he still has the 3 boys all weekend). Baby #2 labor really started up around 10:30 at night, we got to hospital around 2:00 am, and he was born around 9 am. Baby #3 we started the process around 8am and he was born at 12:00...so only 4 hours. What do you all think?
I would send him as well. As long as he promised to keep his phone on him at all times so you could text/call if needed. I'm sure others will totally understand if he needs to step out during a service or event to answer a call or come home.
Thanks! I think I just needed to make sure I am being rational by wanting him to go...I mean, I DON'T want him to go because I hate being away from him especially at this stage, but I know how important and good it is for him to be alone with the Lord. It really makes him a better husband and father! There will be several other dads who have pregnant wives at home too, so they can all savor this time together!
