Now this is starting to become real! Got a few more nb cloth diapers and a new diaper pail bag. And our new carseat and caddy come in too! DD2 keeps going over and climbing the edge of the caddy and peeking in it and saying, "I see Baby Laney?"... It is so cute! The Caddy fits so nicely in the back of my Mazda CX9. Whew! I couldn't order a normal travel system because with 4 carseats/full backed boosters in the car, we literally had no room for the stroller that comes with the travel system to fit nicely other than the front passenger side seat. I think the caddy is going to be perfect for the 8-9 months baby girl will be in the infant seat.
Nice! I just bought a few NB covers off a friend, including a couple of wool ones which I was too nervous/cheap to try the first time but am excited about this go-round! This means that although I'm sure we'll buy a few more cute outfits and will have to fill in gaps as we go, we don't actually NEED anything else before baby comes...we have all the actual necessities: some age and weather appropriate clothes, diapers, car seats, carriers, and a place for her to sleep.
What fun! Maybe I'll get back to making newborn CDs after my u/s. I kind of wonder whether I'll bother if it's still a boy and the placenta moved. Mine have all grown so quickly he'd probably be out of newborn size CDs in 3 weeks.
We need a new carseat, too. Have to get around to ordering that soon. What did you choose? All our others used the same Chicco Keyfit (to 22lbs) which I liked. It expired, though, so we're probably going to look around a bit. We have Britax seats for all the kids right now (2 Decathlons and one Frontier 85) mine have all outgrown the baby seat before 6m, so we spend a lot of time with convertible carseats and expect to spend a lot of time with 5-point harness boosters, too.

Love the haul you got in the mail!!!
When we got our car seat things started feeling really real too. I didn't use a travel system with the boys, and I'm a bit excited about using one this time.

Baby #3 due Oct 1st!!
I made a few nb fitteds when I was expecting DD1... maybe 5 or so of them? I think I now have like 30+ newborn/x-small diapers. My kids generally stay in them for about 3 months! At least the other girls have.
Chicco has now uped the poundage on their KeyFit. We got the KeyFit30! This makes our third KeyFit. I really love them. The first one we got for DS, but the stroller part of the travel system was stolen out of our car when we moved to Italy, so we just bought a whole new Travel System and sold the infant seat to friends. The second KeyFit was the new 30lb. model. We used it with both the girls (DD1 and DD2)... but, it really is boy colors (denim blue and taupe)... and we loaned it to friends last November and basically just told them to keep it (especially since they traveled with it to Slovakia Jan.-Apr. of this year to see her family and it endured multiple plane rides). They just found out they are expecting #3 in February and they have no money to buy a new one anyways. So DH just told me to order a new one for this babe. I went with the caddy this time, just to transport the carseat, as the full travel system won't fit in my car with 4 carseat/booster seats. My 6 year old and 4 year old both have the Britax Frontiers and we LOVE them! DD2 (22months) has a Britax Roundabout, I think. So we are a Chicco and Britax family as well! I am big on carseat safety... my kids will be in 5 pt harnesses for a LONG time as well, even if it's not that cool.
We never used an infant seat--went straight to convertible. The thought of buying multiple seats made me super mad, and I ***hate*** carrying those things around. I just got really good at transfers into a sling...she would even stay asleep no problem once we both got used to it. We have a maxi cosi priori (they don't sell the priori here anymore but they have a new one--pria 70 I think--with a real built in infant insert that converts all the way up to 70 lbs that looks awesome. I would buy that if I was in the market, but ours is still fine. We also have a cosco scenera for our secondary seat. Bare bones but safe and gets the job done.)
With the first couple of kids, I found it was easy to just wear them... not though, when I have to get four kids out of the car or four kids in the car and everyone snapped into their seats... if we are just making a quick hop out of the car, I find the infant seat to be much easier overall for me.
We are starting to round up all of our baby gear as well! We were blessed with a pink and grey Graco car seat last week, we have our co-sleeper back as of today, and my little sister will be returning my breast pump, bumbo chair, rainforest bouncer, travel bassinet, and a few other items. My baby shower has officially been scheduled too! Sept 14th. It's definitely feeling more real now.
