Just got home from the hospital last night. So far it has been going pretty good. Last night was a little rough as he wanted to do some cluster feeding, but he eventually settled down a little. Definitely a little more awake and cranky than he was in the hospital.
The birth went as planned, which was a surprise. We'd been expecting the worst. I went in for the scheduled c-section at the scheduled time. I was worried about the spinal since I'd never had one and with my first I had a failed epidural. They did have a hard time getting it in, it took about 30 minutes and lots of attempts. They were about ready to just do general when he finally was able to get it in. Then we had to wait to make sure it would work on both sides. But it did and we went ahead with the c-section and my husband got to be there. I guess Edward was kind of stuck in there because they had to use the vacuum extractor to get him out. Never heard of that happening with a c-section. He cried right away, which was a really special for us since I was asleep for my second and my husband couldn't be in the room.
Unfortunately, I lost a lot of blood again but scraped by not having to have a transfusion. With my last I had three. So I'm basically on bed rest right now, which means my husband has to do a lot of the work. He's taking a month off though, so by the time he has to go back I should be able to get around more. The sad thing is I'm not allowed to carry my baby since I could fall when holding him. I can hold him when I'm laying down though.
Good luck to those who have yet to deliver and congratulations to those who have!
Congrats hun... he is beautiful!!!!!!! Love the photos!!! I'm so sorry that the section didn't go well and am glad you didn't have to have a transfusion. It's great that your husband is able to take off a month. Rest, relax, and try to enjoy your time with them. I hope you heal quickly and can get from bed rest soon. I remember my section well and my thoughts are with you.
