    Default Nursery Bedding?

Has anyone started looking for nursery bedding yet?

For DS, we had a light blue/light green froggy theme.
    For DD#1, we had a pink/yellow/green dots/strip theme.
For DD#2, we had(have since she is still in the nursery), an orange sherbet/lavender zebra theme.

But, today... I stumbled across this super cute bedding if we have a boy!!!

Has anyone else been looking at bedding/nursery themes yet?

    That's cute--I love those colors!

This baby won't have its own room, um, ever (not until elementary school at the very least!) so he or she will be getting big sister's random crib sheets in a corner of our bedroom. It's almost all gender neutral anyway (green, owls, etc) so...fine for a baby.

I *am* excited to get new BIG GIRL bedding for DD so that we can take all the baby stuff back, though. I want to give her a more or less complete room redecoration for her birthday, but I'm waiting until we get back from vacation to tackle it, because otherwise I'm going to get myself too excited and probably jump the gun. We're borrowing an antique white twin spindle bed from a family member (pretty!) and I want to rearrange everything and put up those DIY gutter bookshelves instead of her big bookshelf to give us some more floorspace, and then some kind of better shelf with bins for toy storage. She is obsessed with pink, but the ceiling in that room is marigold yellow (as well as one shelf) and the dresser is aqua so...I'm thinking we'll just have to do a sort of bright yellow/pink/orange kind of theme. Like this color scheme, although I'm not paying that much for a comforter! I'm super excited to work on it!!! More so than a nursery, I think, because the baby won't care but DD will be THRILLED.

    cute!
We've never done a nursery theme and won't be starting now. This baby will be in our room for 8-10 months. The other 3 boys all share a room and I don't think there's anywhere other than our room to put baby until after we (hopefully) move next summer.

    I LOVE those colours Leigh!

We don't really do a theme either. My boys share a room, and we will be moving them into the 'study' and setting their old room up as the baby's room/study/guest room!

Well, I pulled that pic up to show DH last night, and Adair went NUTS begging for it, so I think it's going to be a hit

My theme for her room was owls, which she has turned out to have a fear of--or at least a love/hate relationship that caused me to have to take a bunch of them out recently.

I had the same thing happen with my oldest. He loved Totoro from the Miyazaki movie. So I painted this large mural with Totoro. He loved it for about a year, then decided he was scared of it. I had to paint it over

Now we're in a two bedroom, so the boys are going to have to share. It's going to be a tight squeeze. We measured to see if the crib would fit and it won't! So we are going to have to saw off part of DS's bed just to get the crib in there. So needless to say, no nursery theme for us unless "packed to the gills" is a theme.

That's about what we're dealing with, except for the first year it will be our room that's packed to the gills. I did just find a little $30 dresser at IKEA that I think will JUST fit at the end of the crib that I can use for baby clothes/changing area.

Have you thought of getting DS a loft bed and putting the crib underneath? He's old enough to handle a ladder, right?

My DS1 is stuck in a toddler bed still (he's 5 1/2 and above the 95th percentile for height and weight) because we can't fit a bigger bed in the room along with the other toddler bed, a crib, and the small dressers. I still have no idea how we fit all that in because it's a small room! And we somehow have to find space for baby in our room for the first year.
I'd like to put our futon in and let the boys share (DS3 can move out of the crib soon) but my oldest is a terrible bedwetter and a toddler bed is so easy to change.

My kids are bunking as soon as DD is old enough to handle a ladder in the night, and kiddo #2 is old enough to be moved into a bed in there. So...when they're like 18m and 4.5? Even just putting a twin bed instead of a converted crib toddler bed in there is going to make the room CRAMPED. That's one reason I want to do those gutter bookshelves...I like that they're essentially flat against the wall and won't take up any floor space!

Glad we're not the only ones wrestling with a tiny house. We like to think of it as living on a ship...gotta make every inch count!
