    Default WEEK 24!!! Viability baby...

Whoo-Hoo! Today I hit Week 24!!! I always breathe a sigh of relief when I hit 24 weeks. Can't believe I have only 16 weeks to go! My next appt. is scheduled for next Thursday, the 20th. I really hope we get to take a peek and see what this baby is. I feel like I'm not bonding too well yet, because I don't have a name to put with the baby and I can't plan anything either... NEED to know the gender so we can do some shopping, either way. I just want to know!

    YAY FOR 24 WEEKS!

I totally know what you mean about the bonding...that's the main reason I'm not at all a Team Green by choice type

They don't do a routine 20 week u/s for you, or did I miss that? Was baby not cooperating?

Oh, we did a routine Level II u/s at twenty weeks, but the baby had it's legs down for most of the u/s. The tech was able to easily measure everything... but, we couldn't see the gender at all. I laid on the table with my legs up for about 10 min squishing the babe and finally it flipped and the silly umbilical cord was wrapped right between the legs and up the butt!!! So, we couldn't see a darn thing. My midwife said we could do a quick gender scan at my next appt.

That's right, I remember now. Make sure they don't forget! I told my DH that if this one didn't cooperate, I was paying for a 3D (there are ones here who will do a gender scan for like $75...not that bad) but fortunately she turned out to be just as much of an exhibitionist as her sister was!

I love being 24 weeks and always breathe a sigh of relief also! I am a pediatric PT and work with a little girl (almost 2) who was born at the end of 23 weeks and does so amazing! She is so smart and very mildly delayed in motor skills.
I hope you get to find out the gender soon! I feel like I will bond with mine so much more once I know the gender.

So, DH is gone to poker night tonight and I am watching a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie and catching up the baby's Belly Book. I think this is just what I needed... taking a little time to actually focus on the baby and how things are progressing and what I am feeling atm. Its a good thing...

Sometimes it's good to have those nights! We've had a crazy day, been going non-stop since 9 am and finally sitting down to relax. My husband has been on call this week, so he's worked probably 70 hours? Or more? He'll be home shortly but life is definitely a bit more stressful without him around. I'm TIRED.

Kaci - I have those weeks, too, when DH works super long hours. It's hard with juggling the other kids!
