Default Late night trip to the ER.. brought me back to life..

Well Tuesday didn't start off very well, I was late for work because I couldn't leave the bathroom. (Always a fun way to start the day!) Then had to jump up during a meeting to run to the bathroom and it was VIOLENT. About an hour later, my vision started acting funny and I realized- Oh no!! Blind spot!! Migraine is coming!! I had to sit down with my manager and beg to go home, I couldn't even see my computer screen. OF COURSE DH is out of town, so my Mom had to come pick me up from work. My manager was not happy with me, so I felt obligated to return to work that day as soon as the migraine went away. Well, it didn't go away. And the throwing up became out of control. by 7 pm I was throwing up every 5-10 minutes. With no relief. By 10:30 my Parents insisted I go in.

Doctor could tell just by the looks of me that I was going to be there for a bit. They put two bags of saline and both Zofran and Phinnegrin. Three hours later the most amazing thing happened.. I felt hungry!! I got some applesauce and rice to stay down then I slept a good 8 hours. I feel human again today!! And they changed my Zofran to the dissolvable kind, and I'm on a strict schedule of taking them every six hours. I think I'm on the way out of this ladies!! Slowly but surly I am going to be able to run my life again. Now just to make a healthy LO!!

Hope everyone is doing well also. I can't tell you enough how amazing it feels to be with the living again.

Wow that was horrible what you went through. I'm glad you are feeling better now!! I can't believe your boss would be like that....sometimes they only think about the company and them selves and not the individual person.

Are you still feeling good today??

    Thank you so much ladies!

Yes, I am feeling fantastic now. We figured out that the constipation is from the Zofran on top of the pregnancy though, which is making me quite uncomfortable. However, I would rather feel uncomfortable instead of the MISERABLE violent throwing up all day. I am taking the dissolvable pills every 5-6 hours and it has really kept it under control.

The boss was much more understanding when I came back to work. But of course I had to fret and worry about it the whole time.

    How is everyone else feeling??

Glad your boss was better about it. Maybe he was having a bad day and with you needing to leave (understandably) he just felt more pressure....

I hate to admit it but I think I'm starting to feel better. Morning sickness is still their but not as bad. I still gag but only when I haven't had anything to eat in a while. I have also been on vacation this week and able to get a lot of rest and doing very little. I hope this is a turning point and not a sign that something is wrong.

I've dealt with hyperemesis 5 times and you have my sympathy! The dissolvable zofran is so much better than the other kind. The lag for the swallowable one to kick in is a pain and it's hard to keep it down long enough for it to work. I ended up needing it every 5-6 hours, too. I recommend asking what laxatives you're allowed to take and taking one regularly (colace didn't cut it for me) because the constipation can add to the nausea if it gets bad enough. Good luck.
