Rowan had her 18 month checkup today. The good news is that she put on weight - she's now up to 20lb 7oz, a full pound over what she weighed at 12 and 15 months (she had lost weight at her 15 month appt). She dropped down to the 5th percentile though. She's 32in tall, so 61st percentile there. Her head is still tiny too, 45.5cm, the 23rd percentile. I do wish she was gaining more weight, but at least she's gaining some.
Overall it was a great appointment. She's functioning at a 2 year old level and had none of the warning signs for autism. That was all they really checked. She got three shots, and now she's done with vaccines until age 5, so I think she'll be happy about that. She already associates the doctor's exam room with shots and starts crying the minute we walk in the door.
In other my-daughter-just-turned-18-months news, my mom called me last night to tell me that Rowan's birthday falls in the middle of the week and she needs to know which weekend we'll have her 2nd birthday party. Really? I need to pick a date for her party (if there is one) that is six months away?
