? About Baby Wearing

I got an email today from Seven. They are having a sale on their carriers, they are 97% cotton. You enter their promo code "thanksgiving2012" and get the carrier for free, just pay shipping, which is around $12. Is this a good carrier? Is it worth the $12 to try it out? It looks like anyone can go on the site and get the carrier by using the code. Thanks for the input ladies!!

Ha, someone else just asked this. The consensus was: eh. If $12 isn't much to you then you may find some use as a hip carrier for older babies, but for newborns they're useless (and really there are much better options for older babies too).

I don't know how anyone has babies without babywearing, but I definitely would not start with a pouch sling.

Also, those slings have a strong chemical smell that is impossible to get rid of. I got one through one of those same deals when Rowan was a baby. I washed it several times and left it in the sun for hours, and it still smelled.

In addition to those being crappy/dangerous pouche slings (and apparently stinky!), I've heard of women paying shipping and then not receiving their slings. Why would a reputable retailer just give away their product? Its suspicious to me.

I got one when Lucas was born. It looks sketchy in person, I have never used it lol

Well, I did the same offer with the nursing covers and I got mine. But I only used it once because really? What a dumb product. They're probably giving them away because at least they make a little money on the shipping, it's free advertising, and nobody's buying them otherwise...

Leigh, I also did the nursing cover, but I never used it. Thanks for the advice ladies, I passed on it.
